The smartwatches e fitness bands presents products from the most diverse brands and price ranges, giving the user a choice for the one that best fits their budget, according to the features they are looking for. O Amazonfit GTS 3 it's a beautiful SmartWatch that finds its market in users who are looking for good health and exercise tracking features, but without compromising their budget at the time of purchase.
O showmetech tested the Amazonfit GTS 3 and brings you, reader, impressions about the Amazfit smart watch, check it out.
Design
O Amazonfit GTS 3, at first glance, can be easily confused with the Apple Watch – they even asked more than once if it was this model – due to its rectangular shape with rounded edges, similar to the smart watch from Apple . But when we got closer, we noticed the differences between the two models.
The smartwatch of Amazfit It has an aluminum case, with a thickness of an impressive 8,8 mm, thinner than the Galaxy Watch4 (9,8 mm) and the Watch Apple 7 (10,7 mm). Measuring 42,4×36 mm (HxL) and weighing 24,4 grams, anyone who is used to other smartwatches (especially those made of steel) will feel that the GTS 3 It is very light, with barely noticeable weight in daily use.
On the right side, there is a button in a central position. When you press it, you turn on the screen and access the watch menu, and when you turn it, you navigate through the interface menus – which are also navigable through touch.

At the bottom of the watch we find the heart rate and blood oxygen sensor, in a centralized position, and the contacts for charging the battery - whose charger has a magnetic fitting that couples only in the correct position. Here, there is no induction charging, which reduces the cost of the watch. The bracelets have a quick-change coupling.
The screen Amazonfit GTS 3 is of the AMOLED type, with a size of 1,75 inches and a resolution of 390×450 pixels, with a density of 331 ppp (pixels per inch) and up to 1000 nits of brightness. You can keep your watch in Always-on display mode by choosing one of the many watch faces available, and can be enabled all the time or by appointment – nobody wants to sleep with the clock on, after all.
The Amazfit smartwatch is water resistant up to 50 meters deep, making it possible to practice water sports with it – we will talk later. The silicone strap is 20mm wide, and its thickness is thinner than what we see on other watches, matching the watch's slender profile. O Amazonfit GTS 3 It can come in Graphite Black, Earth Pink (the color of the unit tested) and Ivory White, all of them with the matching bracelet.
Resources and performance
If you own a smartphone Android or a iPhone, it doesn't matter: the Amazonfit GTS 3 It is compatible with both operating systems. The watch comes with the operating system Zepp OS embedded, a proprietary system of smartwatches from Amazfit. Smartphone compatibility is via the app Zepp all with Android e iOS.
To start the configuration, it is necessary that the application Zepp already installed on the smartphone. Once turned on for the first time, the watch will display a QR Code on the screen, which must be read by the app on the smartphone. As soon as the request for linking with the cell phone is accepted, the configuration continues for a few more moments and the watch is ready to be used.

O Zepp OS It has a clean and light interface, with stutter-free screen transitions, and brings features expected in smartwatches: weather forecast, appointment book, alarms, cell phone media control, cell phone camera photo shooter, app notifications and, of course, health monitoring and physical activities – which we will talk about later.
O Amazfit It even has compatibility with the Alexa – but the experience will not be satisfactory, such is the delay in getting responses from the assistant Amazon. An important detail: the watch does not have a built-in speaker, so the answers will appear on the watch screen. GTS 3.
The watch uses bluetooth 5.1 BLE to pair with the smartphone, and that's it: no headphone support. And there's no reason, as the watch doesn't support phone calls, music storage or streaming apps - but there is a control for media that's being played on the smartphone. WiFi connection and LTE/4G? No way, the watch only communicates with the smartphone paired via bluetooth.
For positioning, there are GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS and QZSS sensors. Other sensors on the GTS 3 include: accelerometer, gyroscope, barometric altimeter, compass and ambient light sensor.
And when we talk about apps, don't expect anything close to what's available for the Wear OS e WATCH. The app store of Zepp OS offers lots of watch faces and a few extras for the watch, like a water reminder and a teeth brushing app. There are no apps from other developers, limiting the watch's functionality to what it does very well: monitoring health and physical activities.
health monitoring
This is where the Amazonfit GTS 3 stands out, and proves to be a more complete option than the smartbands and cheaper than the smartwatches more robust. It may not have features like body composition reading and blood pressure monitoring, but frankly, it's not needed.
The biometric sensor PPG BioTracker 3.0 allows you to measure heart rate and blood oxygen (SpO2), whether performing sports, everyday activities, at rest or even sleeping. With the other sensors that track the movement, the Amazonfit GTS 3 is able to monitor the most diverse aspects of each sport you are doing – or simply count the steps of a walk.
The watch has a feature that makes a quick measurement of heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress level and breathing with just one touch, giving the result in just 45 seconds.
With 24-hour activity monitoring, you earn points in the DAD - Personal activity intelligence (Personal Activity Intelligence) –, which considers variables such as age, gender and daily activity level to calculate a score. The higher the score, the better your health care based on physical activity is doing.

Speaking of physical activity, we monitored cycling and swimming in a pool to test the Amazonfit GTS 3. For cycling, the watch took a few long seconds to search for the GPS satellites, but then it was ready for use. After the ride, you can check a brief summary of the physical activity on the watch, but it is in the Zepp app on the smartphone that we can have a complete analysis of the route. As expected, the report points out:
- Map with the route;
- Speed variation graph;
- Heart rate monitoring chart;
- Heart rate zones reached in training;
- Elevation variation graph;
- Tilt distribution on the path;
- Aerobic and anaerobic effect of training;
- Partial records of speed, time and heart rate per lap.
For athletes who like to follow the progress of their training, monitoring physical activities is very good. When using for swimming training, the Amazonfit GTS 3 brought the same level of information that I get on the Galaxy Watch4, such as average pace, styles, amounts of strokes and laps covered. It is important to remember that activities can be synchronized with the Strava e Google Fit, through the Zepp application.
You do not pedal and nothing? No problem, as the Amazonfit GTS 3 is able to record more than 150 sports. Want to jump rope or play chess? Has. Aerobics, zumba, tap dancing? Also have. want to practice curling? Yes, it has too. And with onboard sensors, the SmartWatch Automatically recognizes 8 sports: outdoor running, indoor walking, walking, treadmill, outdoor cycling, rowing machine, elliptical and pool swimming.
Another common feature in smartwatches e smartbands is sleep monitoring, and here the Amazonfit GTS 3 it doesn't make you ugly – I'm the one who makes you ugly, I sleep little. It assesses sleep throughout the night, bringing a report the next day including:
- Stages of sleep (Deep and light sleep, REM and awake);
- Sleep score;
- Short naps (throughout the day);
- Night's sleep summary;
- Sleep regularity over time;
- Comparison charts with similar users.
In the sleep score and night's sleep summary, the app Zepp brings insights for you to have a better and more complete sleep. Even though it's important to sleep an average of 8 hours a night, an app reminder always goes well. There are sleep hygiene tips to achieve a better score and consequently sleep better at night.
Battery
The battery life of the Amazonfit GTS 3 is one of its main points to attract buyers. With 250 mAh, the maximum runtime reported by the company is 20 days in battery saver mode – which limits the watch’s operation – and 12 days in what is called typical use.
During my test, the battery lasted 6 days, which is compatible with what the company calls heavy usage. In fact, during this period, the watch remained on the arm the entire time (removing it only for bathing) and three swimming workouts, one pilates workout and three cycling workouts were monitored, totaling 590 minutes monitoring exercises.
Comparing to the life span of the Galaxy Watch4, which I use daily, it's a very big difference. Samsung's smartwatch manages to stay just over 1 day away from the charger, further reducing the time if it is running in LTE mode. In fact, the Amazonfit GTS 3 It is the ideal smartwatch for those who want to monitor their physical activities more continuously, without having to use the charger – which fully recharges the battery in two and a half hours. It is even possible to take a weekend or holiday trip leaving the charger base at home.
An important detail is that the battery life will vary depending on the resources being used. And the Amazfit knew how to make it clear that extra features will reduce autonomy: when you turn on these features (such as Always on display), a warning on the clock informs you that the battery will have its life reduced.
Conclusion
O Amazonfit GTS 3 found a great spot among the smartbands and the smartwatches with more resources. All health monitoring features provide a great level of information, as well as important insights into physical activity and sleep performance.
If you are looking for a SmartWatch with more features beyond health monitoring, this is the Achilles heel of GTS 3. The lack of an operating system like Wear OS limits access to apps developed by third parties, which add more functionality to the watch
At the end of the day, it's worth thinking about what your purpose is with a SmartWatch. If you want to have a beautiful and discreet watch, able to accompany you in the practice of physical exercises and don't mind more advanced features, the Amazonfit GTS 3 (R$ 769 at Amazon) will be an excellent smart watch choice.
