Announced as a major premium model for 2025, the soundbar HW-Q800F stands out for its premium design and sound, emphasizing intelligent AI features, and being a fully connected product. See if the R$3.800 investment is worth it for your everyday life in this review:
Design

Released only in black, assemble the soundbar HW-Q800F It's a pretty straightforward process. It has just one bass speaker, which Samsung recommends placing near the bar, closer to the floor. In total, it has a 5.2.1-channel sound system, distributed across 11 speakers. To understand how a 5.1.2 soundbar works, we first need to decipher the nomenclature:
- Left and Right Surround Channels: For ambient sounds and effects coming from behind or to the sides, creating a sense of immersion.
- 5 (Surround Channels): Refers to the number of audio channels that cover the horizontal plane around the listener. In a 5.1.2 setup, this typically includes Central Channel for dialogues, located at the front, and the Left and Right Frontal Channels for most of the soundtrack and effects.
This model delivers immersive three-dimensional audio with front, side, and rear channels, plus a subwoofer for powerful bass, plus two ceiling-reflecting channels. This configuration creates a complete sound experience, with audio coming from all directions, including overhead, elevating movies and games to a new level of realism.
Movies with support for technology Dolby Atmos can be watched with interesting sound quality, and it will actually feel like you're in a room with powerful devices, but we only have the sound from the soundbar. The first impression was surprising.

The idea of creating sound immersion works quite well here: being able to emit sounds in all directions is enough to transform the experience of any content the model is used to play. As for the remote control, the item in the box, powered by AAA batteries, is quite simple: it has media controls, opens the settings, and controls. See below:

At first, I thought a microphone button would be sorely missed, but the soundbar captures voice so well that the lack of it almost goes unnoticed. You can also switch between sound modes and even set a timer for the model to turn off.

Audio quality

Samsung cites in the official soundbar website that the woofer (dedicated to bass) has been updated just for this model. The idea here is for it to be a complement to your smart TV, but I would say it can be your ultimate sound system. I tested the HW-Q800F using Samsung QLED 4K Q7F Smart TV, and I can say that the combined experience is quite incredible. This is because the TV has a 20W sound system, compared to the soundbar's 400W of sound power when in operation.

By opting for adaptive sound mode, which can understand frequencies and automatically adjust, the audio experience is elevated to a whole new level, giving you the feeling that you're in a large living room, but actually just have a powerful soundbar at your side. Everyone who lives with me shared the same opinion: the difference between the sound from the smart TV and the soundbar alone is striking.

When used solely for music, it's worth noting that your living room or bedroom will be completely immersed in high-quality immersion. I decided to switch to Surround mode to see how it would perform, and it turned out much better than I expected. Adaptive mode is interesting, but having a mode just for general immersion was quite interesting.
My only negative comment concerns the woofer. While it's quite powerful and adds to the immersion, the bass has good impact and depth, but it's a bit prominent and boomy. One way to avoid this issue is to use the moderate bass mode, which deactivates the woofer to avoid this deeper rumble. It's a trade-off, but you can also leave the equalization work to the AI to avoid problems when using the soundbar.

The Samsung HW-Q800F soundbar emerges as a solution that elevates the entertainment experience to a new level. Leaving aside the complexity of traditional home theaters, the device focuses on two pillars: immersive cinematic audio and ease of use for anyone.
The model's biggest differentiator is its native support for technologies Dolby Atmos e DTS: X, allowing sound to gain a vertical dimension. Instead of just hearing audio coming from in front of you, you hear rain falling from above, a helicopter passing overhead, or a character's footsteps coming from behind the sofa.
This transforms not only movies and TV shows, but also gameplay in video games, where awareness of the source of sound can be a competitive advantage and dramatically increase game engagement.
Connectivity
With Built-in Wi-Fi, the soundbar becomes a smart entertainment center. Through Google Cast (Chromecast) and Apple AirPlay, your phone turns into a remote control to send music and podcasts from hundreds of apps, with superior quality and without the interruptions of Bluetooth.
For fast and universal connection, the modern Bluetooth 5.3 ensures stable pairing with any device, with a range of up to 15 meters. The technology Sound Synchrony (Q-Symphony) makes the soundbar work together with your Samsung TV's speakers, creating a wider, fuller soundstage.

This is one of the most interesting features the company could offer: this way, even if the smart TV's sound is less powerful, you can still use it as a complement to have a high-quality sound experience.
Finally, it has an HDMI input for connecting devices such as video games, a special HDMI eARC output for getting the highest quality sound from your TV (including Dolby Atmos), and an optical input as an alternative.

Virtual Assistants
In addition to having the Bixby Integrated into its operating system, this soundbar can also be controlled via Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri (if you have a device that supports Apple Home Kit). Although the remote doesn't have a built-in microphone, you can give voice commands to request actions, such as turning off the lights or asking to increase the volume if the remote is far away.
The most interesting thing is that you get a personal assistant that controls everything, without the need for wires. I was able to control the entire smart TV using just Bixby, which I think is ideal, as it can fully understand natural commands without needing to use the remote.
I've gotten used to Samsung's personal assistant, and if you're not already, I think it's worth the effort to use the soundbar as a helper with a variety of built-in features. But the ability to use other AIs is also worth highlighting: there's support for all tastes.
Apps (Android and iPhone (iOS))

Like other connected devices launched by Samsung, the HW-Q800F soundbar can be controlled by the SmartThings app, available for Android e iOSThe app's interface is very clean and allows for easy control, even if you're not a tech savvy person.
In addition to adjusting the volume level, you can switch sound modes, adjust the equalizer, and tweak general settings, all from your smartphone. When you also register the device to your Samsung smart TV, you can control it through the SmartThings interface, even if it's in another room.
Price and availability
As a premium model, this soundbar was launched in Brazil in the R$3.500 price range and remains at that price point while we were writing this review. Here are the options we found:
- Available in combo with Smart TV QLED Q7F of 85″ by R$ 10.609 in the Free Market.
- $ 3.609,05 Add to cart na Samsung;
- R$3.403,08 on Pix na FastShop
- R$2.798 na Amazon;
Conclusion: is it worth buying?

For those who want an immersive sound experience at home and are willing to pay for it, the HW-Q800F is one of the best options on the market, especially if you have a smart TV from Samsung to use the sound sync feature. But it's also worth remembering that even if it works alone, you'll still have a great user experience.
More than just crystal clear highs, the model's bass, even though there may be a slight "burst" at times, is the model's biggest highlight. SamsungWhen you switch from a smart TV to a soundbar, you'll notice the difference from the very first moment, with sound immersion occurring across all models.
The great advantage of this model is its excellent wireless experience, leaving the space cleaner and avoiding visible wires. While wires are included in the box, they aren't necessary to get the most out of this soundbar.

The AI capabilities are also worth highlighting: the ability to track the space to deliver sound to every possible corner is a huge achievement. Samsung maintained for this model. And, since it supports the main personal assistants available in the Brazilian market, it's easy to give voice commands without having to learn new commands or usage methods.
I finish the review of HW-Q800F Designed to complement any smart TV, it's perfect for a variety of occasions and audiences. Whether you're a movie buff or a gamer, you'll enjoy crystal-clear sound wherever you go.
