Although the brand and its products are not yet so popular in Brazil, the Tronsmart Bang Max appears as a new option in the vast universe of speakers bluetooth, designed to adapt to external and internal environments. With a power of 130W, it promises to deliver sound quality on a large scale, catering to those who need powerful sound and portability.
However, does it, in practice, meet its specifications? We ran some tests and detailed our experience with the device below!
Design
When exploring the Tronsmart Bang Max, what immediately catches your attention is the more classic speaker style. Its cylindrical shape, inspired by the boomboxes of yesteryear, immediately sets it apart from many other models available. Not only that, but this design makes it a beautiful piece to use as decoration, as it can bring its charm to a table or counter without looking out of place with the environment.
When I took her closer to the water, the seal IPX6 of resistance gave me peace of mind to relax without worrying about occasional splashes or sprays. In use, however, there was a small setback with the multifunctional buttons. The intention of increasing the volume and ending up accidentally changing the song happened a few times, but I soon got the hang of it.
Speaking of finishing, the Bang Max It conveys solid build quality and weighs around 5kg. The robust fabric that surrounds the speakers and the well-finished plastic parts gave me the impression of good durability. Furthermore, the thick rubber base is a detail that I really liked, as it keeps the box firm and safe, whether on the floor or on a table, even when the volume is high and the speakers vibrate with the bass.
Os LEDs that surround the subwoofers add a captivating visual effect that follows the beat of the music, creating an even more immersive atmosphere for any party or casual gathering. And the ease of connecting a microphone or even a guitar is a bonus for those who enjoy improvising a live performance.
Sound Power
The experience with Tronsmart Bang Max has been surprising in terms of its sound power. Even though it is not one of the most expensive models on the market, it stands out in its price range for its sound projection capacity. In internal spaces, the height of the audio was surprising, surpassing the common needs I have for everyday life and showing that the living room or a party room are in the categories of places that it can fill without a headache.
By taking it outside, where the walls are no longer there to keep the sound in, the Bang Max does not disappoint. It resonates clearly, even at medium volume settings, and if the occasion calls for more – like a lot of people talking around – it can bring out voices without any problems.
However, the power is so overwhelming that, honestly, I never got to explore its full maximum volume for a long time; as it could disturb the neighbors. It is evident that the Bang Max it was built with large venues and grand events in mind, where its limits can be tested without restrictions.
A curious detail is that, when using with the smartphone, if you pause the music and then give play again, there is a chance that volume will return higher than it was previously. This happened a few times unexpectedly, causing a little scare. And although it didn't occur constantly, it raises a question about compatibility.
When we talk about quieter sounds, such as calmer music or silent parts of melodies, it can be difficult to hear, due to the noise suppressor. Of course, this is only noticeable when the volume is very low, situations that don't happen so much in our daily lives, but which, again, shows that it was not built for this.
sound quality
Use the Tronsmart Bang Max It was a rewarding experience, especially for those looking for simplicity and efficiency when listening to music. In everyday use, it fully met expectations, offering a wide and immersive sound, which stands out even more at parties where its sound projection capacity is put to the test.
For those who are not so demanding with equalization, the Bang Max satisfies without any problems. However, for those who value fine adjustments, the Tronsmart app offers useful tools to personalize the listening experience, as the device's “standard” quality may not suit your taste. The function Sound Pulse, for example, is an addition that enhances the sound performance, proving almost indispensable in my use.
Regarding sound quality, the audio profile of the Bang Max tends to emphasize the mid-bass, which enriches the sensation of sound filling, although it may sacrifice a little the texture of the sub-bass. The mids are delivered with vivacity, keeping instruments and vocals highlighted. The sometimes shrill highs may require a reduction in volume, but the overall sound separation is commendable for a speaker. Bluetooth.
integrate to Bang Max with Echo Dot da Amazon revealed some compatibility challenges, such as unexpected volume adjustments. For example, I asked the Alexa a certain volume, thinking it would just reduce it a little, but she was completely silent. However, it is something that can be resolved with patience and experimentation.
And for audio enthusiasts who value high fidelity, it's worth investing in reproductions via SD on codecs state-of-the-art, in order to deliver an even better experience for those who listen. Although for everyday life, the streaming standard, like Spotify, be good enough.
Overall, the Bang Max proved to be a robust and versatile option, suitable for both daily use and for livening up more festive environments, although some adjustments may be necessary to adapt it to specific sound preferences.
Adjustable
As soon as I started testing with the Tronsmart Bang Max, the first feature I explored was the Bluetooth. To my satisfaction, the connection was uncomplicated: after activating the device search, a simple instruction to Echo Dot was enough to establish a fast and stable connection. The same proved true with cell phones, where the connection proved equally intuitive, without the need to use the app for basic playback adjustments.
For those who value simplicity and seek an efficient and hassle-free speaker, the Bang Max appears to be an attractive option. The practicality of the connection is a high point and remains consistent, a factor that certainly meets the expectations of the most pragmatic users.
But the qualities of Bang Max are not restricted to wireless connectivity. The various connection options on the back expand its functionality: it is possible to connect instruments such as guitars and microphones, taking advantage of the gain and volume controls for each channel, which is a differentiator for those who like to make music live. Interesting to note that our version came with a microphone, but the Tronsmart It says the model is not included.
When asked, they informed that depending on the website you purchase from, or the version purchased, the microphone can also be sent. So, it's important to research and question the seller if you're interested in the add-on!
Additionally, the option to load the smartphone directly through the box via the cable USB while playing music directly on your cell phone, using the Tronsmart Bang Max as if it were a Powerbank. Furthermore, the speaker can also play from a memory card, adding a lot of versatility to the device.
At the rear, it is also where the charger is located and although I think it is good, the fact that it has a cylindrical input instead of the standard one USB-C, it could be a problem if the cable is damaged in particular.
It is also worth mentioning that all of these rear inputs are protected by a rubber one, which in addition to protecting the electronics in external environments, also preserves the elegant aesthetics of the box when they are not in use. Thus, the device manages to maintain a discreet appearance.
Battery
The battery life of the Tronsmart Bang Max, which has 18000mAh, may vary depending on usage settings. At medium volume and with LEDs deactivated, the speaker bluetooth It lasted an impressive 23 uninterrupted hours, a remarkable milestone that testifies to its ability to provide long music sessions without the need for recharging.
However, battery life decreases significantly during use in karaoke mode, when connecting a microphone or guitar, reducing autonomy to around 10 hours. Still, this period is enough for most events and music sessions. The same duration time was observed when the box operated at higher volumes with the LEDs activated, which although they give an attractive appearance to the Tronsmart Bang Max, can consume more energy. For everyday and more reserved use, the suggestion is to turn them off to save battery.
As for charging, it doesn't stand out for its speed, requiring five hours for a full charge – making sense, considering its total storage. Although it took a considerable amount of time, it was not an inconvenience for me, as the speaker was generally positioned close to an easily accessible socket. In normal use, I couldn't run out of battery with the speaker, thanks to its long life and the automatic shut-off feature that saves energy when not in use. Additionally, the charging indicator via Bluetooth, which shows your battery in 10% increments, helps you manage your usage to avoid surprises.
Tronsmart app
A Tronsmart It has a dedicated application that, from what I've seen, works for almost its entire speaker catalog and despite it having some complaints about performance in reviews, my experience was smooth. Since it served efficiently as a remote control for the Tronsmart Bang Max.
There, it is possible to make several adjustments to how the speaker works as a whole. For example, I can try to adjust the bass and treble to adapt it to the music I'm listening to or even use pre-defined settings for quick configuration. Furthermore, I can change the song that is playing easily and simply.
One point that caught my attention was the absence of a function that would be very useful: the ability to select specific tracks when playing music via a card. SD. This meant I had to be meticulous in organizing my playlist, and once the music started playing, I was stuck with the established order, which isn't always ideal, especially at a party or event where flexibility is desired.
On the other hand, the lighting functionality LED of the app was a welcome feature. Being able to adjust the lights to sync with the music added an extra element of personalization. Although this configuration is also possible directly on the speaker, the practicality of the application was appreciated. Because when I tried to do it directly from the device, I ended up unintentionally turning it off.
Furthermore, Tronsmart Bang Max offers an interesting feature: the ability to connect with up to 100 other boxes of the same model. While I couldn't test this functionality due to only having one unit, I recognize it's an intriguing addition. Although I question the real need for this function for the average user, I can't deny that the idea of synchronizing such a large number of devices for a large event sounds impressive.
Overall, the experience with the Tronsmart Bang Max was positive, complementing the speaker’s functionalities well. Still, there is hope that future improvements can make the application an even more powerful tool for media management and device control.
