Vladimir Putin's Decision Allows Russian Soldiers to Enter Ukraine; countries around the world fear that conflict will escalate into war

We were about to enter the weekend when the Russian president Vladimir Putin decided that the more than 100 thousand soldiers of the Russia would set foot on Ukrainian soil soon. The main reason for the impending conflict is the possible entry of Ukraine into the Nato (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), an organization that has 30 countries and is mainly organized by the USA.

According to recent events, it was hoped that this would really be decided. Understand the case right now and how countries around the world are handling the situation.

Why is Russia invading Ukraine?

During 1949, in the context of the Cold War, a Nato was created with the aim of avoiding expansion of communism and also having an “escape valve” against a possible Soviet attack. When it was created, the Nato consisted of the following countries:

  • Belgium;
  • Canada;
  • Denmark;
  • U.S;
  • France;
  • Iceland;
  • Italy;
  • Luxembourg;
  • Netherlands;
  • Norway;
  • Portugal.
  • United Kingdom.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the end of the Soviet Union in 1991, you can imagine that NATO also ceased to exist. In fact, a change of purpose has taken place. In addition to the expansion of Nato, which currently has 30 countries, new purposes were defined. The organization would be fighting threats that are considered non-state. That includes:

  • Human traffic;
  • Drug traffic;
  • Piracy;
  • Migration control;
  • Environmental issues;
  • Control of mass arms trafficking.

So why is Russia about to enter Ukraine? Precisely because the country requests entry into the Nato. Besides the Ucrania to have greater war power, the Russia fears that the nuclear weapons (since Ukraine was part of the USSR) that the country possesses will be shared with countries in the Nato, mainly the EUA.

But this also involves other geopolitical issues, such as the passage of pipelines that take Russian natural gas to the Europe. If you “turn your back” on Russia and join the Nato, Ukraine would be choosing the West over the nation it borders. The nations of Nato support the entry of Ucrania, providing for greater stability in this region of the world.

Although it is military, joining the US-led alliance has an effect similar to that of the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) for these Eastern European countries, with obligations and benefits

During the Cold War, all the countries that are currently in Nato were known to be against the ideals of the Russia. That goes for the last ones who joined the organization: Balkan countries such as Lithuania and Estonia.

Another reason that led the president of the Russia authorizing the invasion is that both countries have people who live in one place, but choose to speak the language of another. In other words, there is a mixture of interests and cultures that ends up generating sparks between the two countries. As much as they live in western Russian territory, many citizens have Ukrainian ancestry and speak the official language of the rival nation of Vladimir Putin. The opposite happens in eastern Ucrania: People of Russian descent use the official language as their first language and support proximity to Moscow.

Today, according to the American public network PBS News, White House received the notice that the Russia ordered the more than 100 troops to enter Ukraine “at any time”.

We continue to see signs of Russian escalation, including new forces arriving at the Ukrainian border.

Countries' reaction to Putin's decision

President Joe Biden ordered Americans to leave Ukraine and the embassy was closed.

Although the US is currently at the forefront of Nato, the president Joe Biden seems not to want to get involved in the conflict between the two countries. However, 8 US troops were sent to help US citizens in a possible war. The country with the world's largest economy also closed its embassy both in Russia how much in Ucrania, in addition to recommending that people who were born in the US leave the Ucrania.

American citizens should leave now. Things can speed up quickly.

O United Kingdom stopped recommending trips to the Ucrania and suggested that its citizens also immediately leave the place where a possible conflict could happen at any time. The same decision was taken by Israel, Japan, Holland e South Korea.

There is a moment of tension precisely because of the Beijing Winter Olympics taking place between the 1st and 20th of February. The invasion of the Russia à Ucrania take place before the end of competitions. Foreign Ministries are already talking about the possibility of a war that could leave thousands of innocent people dead.

With the decision made, this means that all soldiers in the Russia that are currently in Kiev will move. In addition to being camped, the same men also performed missile launch tests as a kind of training. Little is known about how the Ucrania would react to the attack, but we hope an agreement is reached so that a war is not necessary.

the french president Emmanuel Macron talked to Vladimir Putin during the last week in order to try to prevent the possible invasion. But that didn't work. We can only wait for the next chapters of this great story.
