Samsung explains self-repair program, “Repara Contigo”

Customers can buy parts and increase the useful life of devices, all made at home and with original company parts

Launched in Brazil in September 2023, the program Repair with You da Samsung arrived in Brazil to allow consumers to repair their branded device themselves, extending its useful life for a few more years. O showmetech was invited by the company to test the new product first hand and tells you all the benefits of opting for it right now.

At this first moment, owners of models from the Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 can buy parts to increase the useful life of the device which may be presenting a technical problem. The Korean company offers backs, charger connectors and even screens with new batteries.

Regarding screen replacement, whoever chooses to do this replacement also ends up getting a new battery, as these components are connected and cannot be replaced separately. In other words: if you change the screen of your Galaxy S20, which was launched 03 years ago, you end up getting a new original battery. The self-repair program allows you to purchase:

  • Charge connector;
  • Rear adhesive tape;
  • Glass rear;
  • Screen (with new battery).

Everyone who has a model can purchase the models, in addition to the repair kit, sold separately on the website for R$ 223,00 in cash. Samsung highlights that yes, the customer can carry out the repair with their own tools, but if they do not have the necessary items, simply buy a kit that can be reused on other occasions.

You may be wondering how the components will be replaced when everything arrives at your home. But the good news is that the Samsung also thought about this and created videos to help customers, so that everything can be done at home. If you are a person who prefers to follow each written step, the company has also made PDF materials available with illustrations that help with the entire self-repair process.

It is very important that you follow all the steps indicated by the company so that nothing wrong happens. During the exchange process carried out by Showmetech, it took around two hours for the screen and battery of a Galaxy S22+ were completely replaced, with the device working again as new at the end of the process.

An application that can be installed after changing components was also launched by Samsung: it allows a usage reset so that the new part is treated as new by the operating system. O Samsung Self Repair Assistant is available for all models in the lines Galaxy S20, S21 and S22.

Components present in smartphones can be a problem for nature and, with this in mind, the Samsung indicates that, right after completing the exchange through the Repair with You, customers can contact us via chat to find out how to dispose of them correctly.

Another option is to leave the old pieces at a physical store in the city. Samsung, which have collection points that guarantee correct disposal without harming nature. A EcoTroca initiative It is also interesting and can even generate discounts of up to R$3 when purchasing new smart TVs and household appliances.

The self-repair program Samsung arrives to give new life to devices that may be broken and the company also confirmed that the new feature is coming to more lines. In the US and Europe, it is possible to find parts for the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Book 15. Cheaper models, such as the Galaxy M and Galaxy A, do not yet have their repair parts available for sale.
