Samsung Galaxy S8 starts to be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo

O Android Oreo, eighth version of the mobile operating system of Google, was announced in August 2017 but it's only now reaching top-of-the-line smartphones from Samsung, in the case, the Galaxy S8 and S8 +. The devices began to receive the update this Thursday (8).

The beta testing phase of the Android Oreo was finished by Samsung  in January. In total, there were seven test phases. Now, the users who agreed to be beta testers will receive the final version of the operating system which, so far, has only been confirmed in Germany and via manual download. That is, no OTA (Over the Air) for now.

O patch update has 487 MB and brings with it version 9.0 of Samsung Experience. Also included is the February security package. Among the news of Android Oreo we have keyboard improvements, messaging multitasking, email productivity, DeX support and improvements to the Bixby assistant.

And it is obvious that users of the Galaxy S8 e S8 + will be able to rely on native Oreo functions, such as smart text selection, PiP (Picture-in-Picture) videos and aesthetic changes to emojis.

And when the Android Oreo will it reach all users? We do not know. But the expectation is that the South Korean manufacturer will make it available to everyone in the coming weeks.
