Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro are launched with temperature sensor

After many leaks and speculations about what the new smartwatch from Samsung, the company finally made official the expected Galaxy Watch5. Directly from New York, during a hybrid event, two new models (with three different sizes) were launched and the big news is the extinction of the swivel crown that for years, was a trademark of the line and was present until the Galaxy Watch4.
O showmetech was present at Galaxy Unpacked 2022 and tells you all the news of the model that for now, still doesn't have an official date to arrive in Brazil.
The design changes
Until 2021, the Samsung chose to name Classic for one of its smartwatch variants as a way to catch the eye of users who prefer a not-so-modern look. But that ends with the release of Galaxy Watch5, which in addition to having a new, more advanced variant that took the name of Pro (short for professional or professional), now it no longer has the rotating crown that was used for navigation in the watch interface.
Another big difference from the previous generation is that the smart watch from Samsung more advanced will be released in just one size: 45 mm. In addition to size, Galaxy Watch5 Pro features a case made of titanium and a larger battery of 590mAh. A wider range of watch colors will also be available. The new smartwatch from Samsung was announced with boxes in the colors:
- Graphite;
- Silver;
- Sapphire;
- rose gold.
The bracelets continue to be another essential item confirmed for the new Galaxy Watch5. A wide range of varieties appeared in the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 and the company should also bring this to Brazil so that consumers have several options for personalization.

This was one of the most talked about rumors regarding Samsung's new line of smart watches. The company chose to place a model that uses an infrared sensor to take more accurate readings. The information can be used for sleep monitoring, training data and even everyday health. Among the confirmed advances in the BioActive sensor is better sleep monitoring that indicates sleep patterns. a program of individual coaching (named from sleep coaching) that helps you improve sleep quality is also confirmed in all variants of Galaxy Watch5.
The sensors can also communicate with other connected devices (such as connected lights, air conditioning units and TVs) via the app. Samsung health so that in moments of rest, everything is deactivated or has its power reduced. The fall detector, very useful for elderly people, has been improved and continues to be an option that sends an alert to the security contact.
As for the bioimpedance sensor, the Samsung confirms that it will be possible to have access to information on your entire body composition with even more precision compared to the previous generation. Of course, more traditional sensors are present: the 2022 release will allow users to track heart rate and electrocardiogram.
Native Google Assistant support
When was it introduced to the world in August 2021, the Galaxy Watch4 already had the WearOS (from Google) in place of the operating system Tizen for smart watches Samsung. But support for Google Assistant arrived just four months later, and until then, smartwatch buyers had to use the Bixby, which despite not being the most remembered in a first consultation, has several interesting features.
For the year 2022, the company confirms that its new smartwatches will have support for the Google assistant from the first use. In addition, those who like music also gained news: now, there is support for SoundCloud e Deezer, two new additions to what is already available. Users of past generations have access to a dedicated application for the Spotify e YouTube Music.
The new Galaxy Watch5
The line Galaxy Watch5 presents two models that look a lot alike and in fact, the big changes are in the battery and size.
All variants reach the international market with the processor Samsung Exynos W920 Dual Core SoC, which was present in the previous generation, as well as 16GB of internal flash memory. In addition, both versions have integrated GPS and NFC for payment and other approach unlocks.

Galaxy Watch5 Pro
Aimed at those who want to go further, this model has a titanium case that measures 45 mm, weight 46,5 grams and has thickness of 10,5 mm. It was shared that compared to the previous generation, the Galaxy Watch5 Pro is 60% more resistant.
In addition to the varied color options, the smart watch has a greater 590 mAh battery that can stay active for up to 80h in moderate use. The battery gain in this model is 13%, according to the Samsung. An eight-minute plug-in charge allows full monitoring of eight hours of sleep.
Another unique feature is in charging: the Galaxy Watch5 Pro It supports to be recharged via induction up to 10W. THE Samsung pointed out that a 30-minute rest on the base will provide 45% of the battery capacity, which will be more than enough for the sensors to work for more than a day.

Galaxy Watch5 Golf Edition
Aimed at golf fans, Samsung announced this special version of its new smartwatch at the end of the event. Defined by the company as the “best smart device that gives guidance and recommendations to golfers”, this watch has bracelets in its colors and pre-installed apps for the sport. Buyers will also have access to exclusive golf-themed screens.
Not much information has been released about this variant, but there is confirmation that it will be released in three sizes: Watch5 Large, Watch5 Small e Watch5 Pro. The starting price of the Bluetooth version is US$ 329 or R$ 1.659,31 in direct conversion.

The models went on pre-sale today (10) and hit the general market on August 26, 2022.
There is still no pricing information for the Brazil or arrival of the new smart watches in the Tupiniquin lands, but if we take the launch of the last generation as a basis, it is expected that the new Galaxy Watch5 arrive in Brazil no later than one month after the Galaxy Unpacked 2022.
