Samsung Wind-Free's new 18.000 and 24.000 BTU capacities join the company's 9.000 and 12.000 BTU capacities and bring more power to users

A Samsung announced two new capabilities of the air conditioning model Wind Free, the first in the world considered without wind. This is the company's most recent launch in the air conditioning area and aims to meet market demand for more efficient devices that offer more comfort.

It is a fact that air conditioning is an increasingly common good and, consequently, more and more people are accustomed to its benefits. In that regard, Jefferson Porto, Associate Director of Products for the Digital Appliance Division at Samsung Brazil, states that:

“More than an object of desire, air conditioning equipment has become indispensable items to ensure comfort and a feeling of well-being throughout the year. With the expansion of our offer, we believe to meet the demands of our consumers who are looking for equipment that adapts to any space, and that become useful both in summer and in periods with milder temperatures, such as winter”.

Porto also highlights the need to consider the BTU when purchasing an air conditioner, as well as other factors, such as the number of users in the place, exposure to the sun and the number of electronic equipment present. BTU is the acronym for british thermal unit and corresponds to a unit of energy (1BTU = 252,2 calories). Thus, the higher the BTU of an air conditioner, the greater the cooling power, that is, the easier it is to cool or heat a room.

O Samsung Wind Free is available in two capacities: 18.000 and 24.000 BTUs (previously it was offered in 9.000 and 12.000 BTUs). Also, it has hot and cold versions.

Advantages of Samsung Wind-Free's New Categories

One of the benefits of Wind Free is that it spreads the cold air through 21 thousand micro air vents that are distributed in the device. This contributes to the fact that the air is not a direct current and, consequently, does not disturb those who are “in the crosshairs” of the current. The fact that it is “no wind” considers the standard that currents have a speed below 15 m/s.

Another advantage is that it consumes 72% less power when connected in Wind Free. In normal operating mode, the reduction is 55%. The total energy and time to reach maximum motor speed is also low due to the smaller torque variation, which is provided by the world's first 8-pole digital compressor and POWERboost contained in the device.

It is possible to control the Samsung Wind Free remotely via the platform Samsung SmartThings. The advantage is that you can program the office device before leaving home or vice versa, finding the environment already cooled when you arrive.

Energy consumption can be monitored through applications installed on smartphones and tablets. The assistant Bixby allows you to control the device (on and off commands) through voice command. It is available in English, Korean and Mandarin and a Portuguese version is under development.

O Wind Free also has the technology virusdoctor, which is unique to the Samsung. With it, there is the elimination of 99,9% of influenza A viruses (also known as H1N1 flu), influenza B (common flu) and corona viruses (responsible for causing respiratory infections in humans and animals). There is also a reduction in the presence of fungi and bacteria and the elimination of mites. The goal is to make the ambient air cleaner.

Price

The new categories can be found with an average price of R$4.799,00 (18.000 BTU version) and R$5.299,00 (24.000 BTU version). Earlier models can also be found for purchase. The average price of the 9.000 BTU is R$3.299,00 and the 12.000 BTU is R$3.599,00. The devices are available on the website of Samsung and in partner stores.
