What is Film Week?
(Image: Disclosure / Ingresso.com)
A Film Week is an initiative created by the National Federation of Cinematographic Exhibition Companies (FENEEC) in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Cinema Exhibition Companies and Multiplex Operators (ABRAPLEX).
First launched in 2021, the event was created as a response to the challenges faced by the film industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in prolonged movie theater closures and a subsequent drop in attendance. The event was planned as a strategy to revitalize the industry by offering affordable tickets and attracting moviegoers back to theaters.
Following the success of the first editions, Cinema Week has become an annual practice to provide cheaper movie tickets. The main objective of the event is to democratize access to cinema, allowing more people to enjoy new releases and major productions at a reduced price, this edition charging 12 reais in several exhibition networks. In addition to encouraging film consumption, the initiative helps to strengthen the public's connection with the unique experience of watching on the big screen, in a safe and engaging environment.
All films showing in traditional 2D theaters will participate in the promotion this year, including special prices for popcorn and drink combos as well.
In which theaters will it be available?
All companies associated with ABRAPLEX will offer discounts on cinema tickets. The participating companies are:
- Arteplex
- Cinema Araújo
- cineart
- Cinemark
- Cinépolis
- cinesystem
- GNC Cinemas
- kinoplex
- moviecom
- UCI Cinemas
It is recommended that you always check the company's official website for promotional prices and participating sessions during Cinema Week. In some cases, even films in 3D sessions or premium theaters such as IMAX may also have reduced prices and you can have high-quality screenings even at a cheap cinema.
