Yesterday, September 8th, the world received the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II at 96 years of age. Just yesterday it was decided that his eldest son, the hitherto Prince Charles, would be named the new King of England, now becoming the King Charles III. The Queen (The Queen), 2006

With Helen Mirren in the role of Queen Elizabeth II, in the plot we have a little about the life of the monarch after the death of Princess Diana, a fact that shook many people around the world. On the occasion, the Queen meets with Tony Blair (Michael Sheen), the prime minister at the time, to discuss actions that bring the population closer to the British crown.

The king's speech (The King's Speech), 2010

Although there is no focus on Queen Elizabeth II, in The king's speech (The King's Speech) we see the trajectory of his father, the king George VI. On occasion, George is about to take the crown after his brother Edward VIII abdicating the post, however, for being a stutterer, George finds himself in a difficult position for the position. Queen Elizabeth — mother of Elizabeth II and played by Helena Bonham Carter — takes him to a therapist, so they try to deal with this problem as best they can. The title also won the Oscar for best picture in 2011, in addition to other awards such as Best Director, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay.

The Night of Royalty (A Royal Night Out), 2015

Before being crowned Queen of England, Elizabeth (Sarah Gardon) joins her sister, the princess margaret (Bel Powley) for a night out together. The occasion comes with the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II, and royal figures were allowed to go out specifically on this night. The princesses then do what they have possibly wanted for years, which is to have a "normal life" outside the castle, and so they find themselves in scenes of romance and also danger.

Spencer, 2021

SpencerAnother title that also doesn't feature Queen Elizabeth II as a protagonist, we have Spencer, the latest film about the Royal Family. In this movie we have Kristen Stewart and Princess Diana, showing some of her life before and during her marriage to — until then — Prince Charles. Filled with emotion, Spencer brings a visceral story with events that precede the death of the well-known "people's princess".

A Weekend in Hyde Park (Hyde Park On Hudson), 2012

The Crown, 2016

Possibly the best-known and most comprehensive recent work on the Royal Family, in The Crown we see much of what Queen Elizabeth II went through before, during and after her coronation in the 1950s. Much of what has been recorded is showcased in the series, not just the royal laurels, but also the disagreements and misadventures — let me tell you. if in passing, there are many. Currently the series has 4 seasons, the 5th being available at any time and with rumors that more are to come on the platform.

The Royal House of Windsor, 2017

This documentary series is more focused on the royal family, their secrets and what it was possible to collect about the centenary in which the house Windsor is in power. Covered in six episodes, historians and people with little-known information report on what they know about British royalty. In some episodes we can see a little bit about Princess Diana's life, as well as the ascendancy and decline of her marriage to Prince Charles and her later tragic death.

In this new title we see even more events of Queen Elizabeth II in more relaxed moments. The life of a monarch, especially with the rank of Queen, brings with it several royal responsibilities and protocols. But here we can see that not only a Queen lives from work, showing moments as a wife, mother, animal lover and even with some unlikely friendships.

Elizabeth & Philip: Real Love (Elizabeth And Philip: Love And Duty), 2017

And finally, there is also a specific title that talks about the romance between the Queen and the Prince. In this case we are talking about Elizabeth & Philip: Real Love (Elizabeth And Philip: Love And Duty), a documentary that takes an inside look at how the marriage between British royal figures was like. This media was launched in 2017, the year that marked the 70th anniversary of the relationship between the two, and here you can see a little more closely about how they dealt with their real responsibilities, the love between their masters and also with their family.
