In the episode that marks the hundred and eighth edition of our ShowmeCAST, Arthur e Leticia list some of their pop culture experiences from the last week.
It has ranged from the resurgence of a “legendary” sitcom, to the Netflix production that has been pushing a game on Steam. If you are looking for indications of good games, movies, series, books, comics and everything else, this is the place! Another one is starting ShowmeCAST!
ShowmeCAST 108 kicks off with “legendary” sitcom

From 2005 to 2014, How I Met Your Mother caught the public's attention, guaranteeing its place in the hearts of many people. The CBS sitcom follows Ted Mosby as he tells his children the story of how he met their mother. Tutu decided it was time to face the series, after several colleagues stated that “is the best comedy series ever”.
An exaggeration on their part, but Arthur didn't make it to season four in a few days for nothing. Thus, Ted and company receive the seal of excellence from our dear presenter.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners powers the game on Steam

Anyone who is interested in and follows the world of games knows: Cyberpunk 2077 promised a lot, but ended up delivering nothing but bugs and instability in its release. Today, the bugs have been fixed, but the game's reputation has not been restored. However, on September 13, the anime that takes place in the same city as the game - Night City, arrived to give new air to the wronged game.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is produced by the Japanese studio trigger, responsible for several high-calibre anime. In 10 episodes, it tells the story of a 17-year-old boy trying to survive in a future city obsessed with technology and body modification. With not much to lose after so many misfortunes in the first episode, David decides to become an Edgerunner - mercenary outlaw, also known as Cyberpunk.
I, Letícia, highly recommend it to anyone who sees an emotional charge in violent combat. In this anime, everything is built with the utmost attention to detail, often making references to the game's universe. Not to mention the art direction and soundtrack that are excellent!
Netflix national productions

Image: Good Morning, Veronica/Disclosure
Next, Arthur brings two national recommendations, available on Netflix. the first is Vizinhos, a comedy starring Leandro Hassum. The actor plays Walter, who suffers from a nervous breakdown due to a stressful work routine. Thus, he and his wife Joana, lived by the great Julia Rabelo, leave Rio de Janeiro to seek peace in a small town, surrounded by peace and nature.
These plans for relaxation that Walter so sought are ruined because of his noisy new neighbor, who is a samba school's drum master. Mauricio Manfrini, Paulinho Gogó from Praça é Nossa, is this new torment in Walter's life. Only with this team of actors, you can already imagine the comic result of the production. It is worth checking!
Another tip from Tutu is the second season of Good morning, Veronica – based on the homonymous novel by Ilana Casoy and Raphael Montes. Tainá Müller is the protagonist Veronica, who returns even stronger alongside two new stars of the production: Klara Castanho and Reynaldo Gianecchini. Mixing crime thrillers with relevant social issues, it's a great option in the Netflix original catalog.
disney dreamlight valley

Letícia had a mission: to play the new disney game to write her review for Showmetech, which was accepted without much enthusiasm. Well, I started playing Disney Dreamlight Valley a little displeased with the proposal – a type of Disney's Animal Crossing. That's because I'm not a big fan of the genre.
However, after a few hours of play, I found that I was completely blown away. Because in addition to being that kind of comforting, de-stressing and visually cute game, the whole atmosphere is created to envelop you to the point that your journey looks like a big ride in the Disney park. In particular, this is a big big deal!
disney dreamlight valley is quite competent for life simulator players, whether you're a Disney fan or not. Time is the necessary investment, as you'll need to complete numerous quests, but it's a prized bargaining chip for incredible nostalgic immersion. The game is available for PC on Steam and Epic Games, for Switch, Playstation and Xbox (Game Pass).
The delights of PS Plus

Image: PS Plus/Playback
Finally, we celebrate the existence of Playstation Plus and other game subscription services, which offers us an extensive catalog of games. Of course, there is a monthly or annual fee to pay for this, but the point is that, for many players, it doesn't make much sense to invest R$200 in a launch anymore. Also, by downloading from one of these services, you don't feel obligated to complete a game “just because you paid for it”. We enjoyed it without any worries, it was simply too yummy!
For example, Tutu downloaded Scott pilgrim, played 15 minutes and didn't like it. It was deleted without further pain. Then he downloaded his already played Yakuza and Death Stranding. That's about it, try and play!
