In the 37th episode of ShowmeCAST we talk about the 2021 Oscar nominees and winners – and which ones are worth watching!

ShowmeCAST arrives in its thirty-seventh episode full of cinematic trivia and all the most interesting that happened in the last week. Introducing the podcast showmetech, the editors Philip Vidal e Allan Francisco approach the topics that most attracted attention in the world of technology through a relaxed chat and full of information.

On ShowmeCAST's episode of the week, we bring you the topic of the moment: Oscar 2021. The biggest award in the film industry, which took place last Sunday (25), had expected winners and others quite unusual, such as the case of Youn Yuh-jung, the grandmother of the movie Threatening. Looking back on what the event was like, we talk about our choices and (first-hand) reactions to the top nominees.

The sequence we chose to follow in ShowmeCAST was similar to the Oscars itself, commenting on animation first and leaving the long-awaited best picture award for last – something the Academy chose to change in this year's edition, for inexplicable reasons. It was the first time in Oscar's nearly 50 years that this had happened, which some thought was justifiable if Chadwick Boseman win the posthumous award. So, whether or not you attended the awards, we give you a brief summary of the best that happened.

Where to watch Oscars 2021 movies?

Furthermore, since there are few winning films that have reached our country, as in the case of nomadland, which is only showing in theaters, we suggest which ones you can watch without leaving home. ShowmeCAST even reinforces that safety comes first when talking about movies. As good and award-winning as they are, it's not yet time to go to the movies.
