Bolsonaro gains website that gathers facts and accusations about the President

We are just over a month away from 2022 Elections and researching each candidate's file is essential. One of the candidates for President is the also current president, Jair Bolsonaro, for whom he has been through several controversies – before and during his term. Today we will present the website Bolsonaro.com.br, which presents itself as a gallery that tells some facts about the trajectory of the then presidential candidate. See more about curation.

What is the bolsonaro.com.br website?

As soon as you enter the site Bolsonaro.com.br, we immediately see the phrase “Threat to Brazil“, followed by a button just below that says “See the full exhibition here”. In the background we have the figure of the current president in a Nazi salute, wearing Hitler's mustache and some bovine animals in a pasture in the background.

The website brings several events and finds a handful about Bolsonaro's journey since he started his political career, that is, as much as it is something aimed at alerting the population about the risk of his candidacy in 2022, it still shows some scenarios before of being elected in 2018.

Just above there are three options to explore: “Home“, the home page; "the threat“, where you can check the gallery content by topic; "About” where it says what the site is for, accompanied by a photo of the presidential candidate and, just below, a countdown that ends on January 1, 2023 (when the president-elect this year takes office); and finally, "Contact“, containing an area for you to forward a message to the person responsible for the site.

When going down a little on the main page, we see the phrase “The plan to subvert the power“, followed by the gallery that is separated into topics of different subjects. Each of them explores in detail what the title proposes. They are:

What are the exhibits in the collection?

In that central button that is on the main page, it is possible to see a summary of all the topics mentioned, in a brief chronological form. Filled with images, videos, fonts and as many more references are needed, the exhibition features a gallery that exposes much of what Jair Bolsonaro has been and is going through. But he is not the only one to be addressed in the play.

Other extremely well-known names that are linked to him are also seen throughout the site. the family and the Bolsonaro's children, are some of which are often cited in cases such as the dissemination of disinformation, which is not exclusive to the President, but which highlights his son Carlos Bolsonaro. The latter was appointed as the head of the organization of lying networks that have acted strongly since the 2018 election to try to leverage his father's popularity, to the present day.

Carlos Bolsonaro, on the other hand, traveled to Russia along with a presidential entourage, where he certainly discussed disinformation tactics and strategies for the election campaign. Key advisers to the Hatred Cabinet also travel to Russia. It is worth remembering that Alexandr Dugin, Putin's ideologue who theorized the invasion of Ukraine, defends disinformation tactics to destabilize the West.

One of the most recent cases is due to Bolsonaro's conduct in relation to the COVID-19 and the country. Since the pandemic devastated the world, several state leaders have done everything to contain the infected and the deaths, try to keep the economy in the best shape possible and all this while some solution was not presented - except for Jair Bolsonaro. In "the politics of death” we see how dealing with mass death is actually a strategy to stay in power.

The President has been denounced several times before the International Criminal Court for his disastrous attitude towards one of the greatest challenges in modern history. Bolsonaro carried out “an institutional strategy for the spread of the virus.” He called the disease the “little flu” in total disregard for the hundreds of thousands of deaths. He hindered social assistance to the most needy. He defended the use of ineffective drugs and despised the modern science that brought us the vaccine and the end of the pandemic.

How did the website come about?

Previously, the domain was already used by Bolsonaro to praise his achievements as a politician, however, in January of this year it was bought by Gabriel Baggio Thomaz, 29 years old. Now the person in charge has the right to explore the entire length of the site at least until January 2023. Even in different parts of the site it is possible to see the words “This site is not managed and does not belong to the Bolsonaro family.".
