So far, there is no way to prove vaccination through the ConectSUS application. The Ministry of Health has not yet taken a position on the matter.

This morning, the website of the Ministry of Health was hacked and the group that took over the attack allegedly “copy and deleted” the data. As a side effect, the application Connect was affected, failing to show proof of vaccination of all immunized Brazilians.

According to the notice that stopped appearing around 7 am, the group deleted 50 terabytes of data from the Ministry of Health and the hacker group asks you to contact them to return the data.

The attack is serious, the vaccination information is no longer being displayed in the Connect and so far there is no way for Brazilians to prove vaccination.

When opening the app, users are faced with a screen with no vaccination history:

This is most likely a “ransomware” attack, in which data is hijacked in exchange for a payment.

This type of attack has become common, even carried out against normal people. We interviewed Rafael Pereira, victim of a ransomware attack and told how to protect yourself from a ransomware attack.

The Ministry of Health has not yet given any position.
