Previously only available to subscribers, Snapchat Web lets you send messages, make voice/video calls, and more.

In July of this year, the Snapchat introduced Snapchat for Web to Snapchat+ service subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Now, two months after the launch, the social network has made the version available website of your app to all users. The desktop-oriented platform delivers many of the features available in the mobile app.

What does Snapchat Web offer?

First, to do login on the platform, just access web.snapchat.com and enter your data. Once this is done, you can now send messages and Snaps, continue conversations started on the cell phone, react to content received on the chat or make voice/video calls using more than 10 lenses. The company revealed that users spend, on average, more than 30 minutes a day on calls. So it makes sense that this feature would be present in the global release.

Just like in the app, all sent messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours. In addition, the platform also prevents others from taking a screenshot of your photos or videos. Interestingly, your Bitmoji will appear holding a notebook to indicate that you are using the website.

Despite offering almost all the features of the application, the Snapchat for Web it still lacks some functions, such as the visualization of Stories and Memories, something that should arrive in the future, according to the company itself.

What's New for the App

In addition to releasing the version website for all users, the social network also introduced new features for the Android and iPhone (iOS) application. There are now shortcuts at the top of the conversations area to make it easier to identify Snaps and unread chats, view missed calls and respond to Stories. Shortcuts also work as reminders to let you know if you need to respond to someone or even to alert you when your friends' birthdays are coming up.

Another novelty are the Sticky Questions. As its name suggests, you can insert a “box” of questions in Stories to increase interaction with your followers.

As for the availability of new features, the company revealed that they have already been released, but that they should take a few weeks to reach all users.
