The week is just beginning, but OpenAI still has a series of announcements to make until Friday. Today's announcement is the release of Sora, an artificial intelligence that creates videos, presented to the world for the first time. Already available to paying users, including Brazilians, see how it works and each of the features that sound quite interesting for a first final version.

Sora's Tools

The idea of OpenAI is to allow its video-creating AI to be used as a complement to creators, rather than replacing them. With that in mind, a number of features have been added to Sora. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.

Sora interface, AI that creates openai videos
You can view videos created by other users (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The first highlight is the Featured tab. There, you can check out several videos created by Sora users, whether for inspiration or to use one of them in new content.

When you click on an option, you will be able to see the text command used to generate it or even receive information if it is just a static image that has been given movement via AI.

Storyboard

The Storyboard tab of the AI that generates videos is where the magic happens: in addition to typing text commands or sending content used as a base, it will be possible to choose the aspect ratio of the videos created, the duration, the number of videos received and even create two scenes that will be unified in the same video.

At this first moment, the Sora can create videos of up to 20 seconds in FHD resolution

Re-Cut

When you don't like a video created by AI, you can use the Re-cut tool, which allows you to cut and select a scene you like most from a video, so that it has its length increased.

After clicking the Recut button, simply cut the video and wait for the preferred scene to have its length increased. Simple and easy.

loop

Now talking about the Loop feature, it will allow you to select an initial scene or a video and transform it into an infinite video, giving you three options that can be chosen depending on the type of video created. The idea here is to allow the video to be endless and can be used in different ways by creators. See the explanation below:

Remix

Remix tab allows you to swap elements in videos made via AI (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

There's also Remix, which lets you add, remove, or edit elements to a video. To do this, simply click on the video after it's been created.

After clicking the Remix button, simply enter your changes and choose the intensity of the change, which will also impact the result. In the example shown in the photo above, the type of house was changed in a video without changing the surrounding landscape or the type of footage. Amazing, right?

Blend

Videos can be merged into one (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Finally, we have the Blend, which basically connects two videos, whether they are created by Sora or saved on your computer. To do this, simply press the Blend button and a screen with both videos will open. You can select the intensity in which they will be connected and also select the exact part at which they will become one video.

OpenAI also released a series of explanatory videos on how to use Sora on his YouTube channel, be sure to check it out.

Price and availability
