May the Force be with us all padawans. The day May 4 is not just another vacant date on the calendar for fans of Star Wars. What originated as a joke among Margaret Thatcher's supporters with the pun “May 4th” and “May the force”, very similar phonetically, became a symbol of love and adoration for one of the greatest pop culture sagas.

The origin of the name, made official by the official website of Star Wars, was in 1979 with the election of Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady, as the Queen's Prime Minister, on May 4th. Thatcher's supporters wrote to the The London Evening News the phrase “May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations” (May the 4th be with you, Maggie. Congratulations!, in translation), a parody of the iconic phrase "May the Force be with you" (May the Force be with you), used by the Jedi.

Star Wars series

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014/2020)

Due to the success of the animated film, a 3D animated series was also commissioned by Lucasfilm Animation. Star Wars: The Clone Wars It was originally from the Cartoon Network channel and premiered in 2009, continuing the adventures of Anakin and Obi-Wan, together with padawan Ahsoka, across the Galaxy, facing villains and exploring planets unknown in the films. The series had 6 seasons, with the sixth releasing directly on Netflix.

In 2019, another season arrived with 12 episodes, coming directly to Disney+. The decision was announced at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con. Therefore, the seventh season arrived in 2020 and caused some strangeness due to the difference in approach, since this season served to get much closer to the events of Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith.

But, in general, the series addresses an epic civil war where Jedi fight to maintain freedom and win peace in the galaxy against the diabolical forces of evil, taking place between Episodes 2 and 3 of the The prequel.
