Super Mario Bros gets new trailer with Peach; Look!

In a special event held on Tuesday, 29, the Nintendo, in partnership with Illumination Entertainment, released the second trailer for the film Super Mario Bros, which hits Brazilian theaters in March 2023. One of the great novelties presented is related to the characterization of Princess Peach, who appears for the first time in official images of the company and appears to have an important role in the story.

The trailer, in addition to introducing the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, also showed new characters that will be present in the feature: Donkey Kong, who seems, at some point in the film, to enter into a direct confrontation with Mario, references to the first games of the plumber and also to Super Smash Bros, a fighting game where several Nintendo names face each other.

Everything indicates that the film will be a delight to fans of the Japanese company's franchise, as in addition to Smash Bros, looks like Mario Kart, in your dreaded rainbow road (Rainbow Track), and scenes similar to those of the character's classic platform games will be highlighted in the feature. Something to hit the nostalgia and hearts of those present in movie theaters who, at some point, had contact with the franchise.

For those who know the games, know that the history of the vast majority portrays the Princess Peach being kidnapped by Bowser, so it's up to the mustachioed Italian to save the Mushroom Kingdom. However, the new trailer showed that, this time, the character will have a more active role in the story, being more impactful than the classic character of the games that usually disappears from the screen and only returns in the final minutes, now saved. It is even possible to see her equipped with an ax, in search of saving the galaxy from the tyranny of the King Koopa!

Super Mario Bros voice cast

Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) will be responsible for voicing Mario in the film in his original language, in addition, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) will voice Peach and Charlie Day (I Want to Kill My Boss) is Luigi. About that, Seth Rogen (Super Bad) will debut Donkey Kong, Jack Black (Jumanji) as Bowser and Keegan-Michael Key (The Graduation Party) as Toad are also cast in the feature film.

However, Brazilian dubbing gained prominence for its quality, since Raphael Rossatto, responsible for dubbing the voice of Chris Pratt in several of the actor's works and for playing Kayn in League of Legends, brought back the plumber's Italian accent. The lack of this feature in the original trailer, so remarkable for the character, left some fans who were waiting for the film disappointed, but this, by all indications, will not be a problem for those who watch in Portuguese.

Nintendo's second attempt at cinema!

The 3D feature is the result of a partnership between Nintendo, whose objective is to expand its intellectual properties to new means of entertainment, with the Illumination Entertainment🇧🇷 The company, known for some commercially successful animations in the film market, such as Despicable Me 1, 2 e 3, Song 1 e 2, And Pets – The Secret Life dos Bichos, accepted the opportunity to be responsible for bringing the mustachioed Italian to the big screen again.

This new work is a second attempt by Nintendo to invest in this cinematographic market with its characters. In 1993, the company used the mascot for the film of the same name. However, after problems between the responsible studio at the time and Nintendo, the feature film was not at all expected by fans and became a critical box office failure.
