TCL in Brazil
TV production
The operation of the TCL No. Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) is a strategic point that connects global manufacturing to the Brazilian market. The factory, whose roots date back to 1973 and which was consolidated after the entry of TCL in partnership with Semp in 2016, it boasts an impressive production volume: more than 14,479 million Smart TVs were manufactured between 2016 and 2024.
With approximately 1.200 employees working two shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., the unit adapts its production to the demands of the Brazilian market. The largest volume of televisions manufactured is concentrated in the most popular and affordable sizes, particularly 32-inch TVs, closely followed by 50-inch and 55-inch models.
Assembling televisions in Manaus is a high-precision process that combines international logistics and cutting-edge technology. Although the raw materials, including most of the panels (screens), arrive by ship from China, the final assembly is entirely domestic.
The production line uses computer vision to review electronic boards, similar to Motorola smartphone factory. Assembling a board is extremely quick, taking only 100 seconds.
To ensure the solidity of the components, the boards are placed in a reflow oven that reaches temperatures of up to 200°C (488°F) and then subjected to thermal shock in a -25°C (-4°F) environment. The final step involves manually inserting components before final soldering. Six models are manufactured there. They are:
