When you hear someone talk about Tectoy, you must remember the SEGA video games, right? Or if you're a parent, you might know Tectoy through its Disney and Galinha Pintadinha tablets or Baby Care product line.
Now, Tectoy wants to enter the tablet market with everything. This week, the company launched the Veloce, Android tablet with processor Intel Atom 1,2 GHz dual core and 7 inch IPS screen. The Brazilian manufacturer's strategy will be based on two pillars: cost/benefit and recognition of the Intel brand.
Available in retail and online stores by R$399,00, the Veloce TT5000i is affordable, despite not being the cheapest. But with an Intel processor, 7-inch IPS screen and 1GB of RAM, it certainly has a good ratio. cost benefit. By associating itself with the Intel brand, Tectoy hopes to gain consumer trust, even strategy used by DL.
O Veloce It is available in a single version with Wi-Fi only. There is no forecast of launch with 3G/4G. Despite this, Sérgio Bastos, CEO of Tectoy, says that this tablet is just the beginning of a partnership with Intel, which should yield other products.
the tablet runs Android 4.2 (no update expected), it has a 2.800 mAh battery, wi-fi, bluetooth and micro USB connections, 8 GB of internal memory, microSD, internal speaker, headphone jack and two cameras. As is common in this price range, the Veloce does not have a light sensor for automatic brightness control.
Hands-on

The Veloce surprises with its design and finish. For a tablet priced below R$400,00, it is beautiful and robust, with only 0,93 cm of thickness. The size seems to be ideal for anyone looking for an easy-to-carry tablet around. It even fits in some trouser pockets, but not that it is practical or comfortable to carry it this way.
The screen IPS is superior to competitors in the same price range, but a lighting sensor is lacking. The rear camera is a differential too, but it cannot be used as your main camera to record all the moments, since we are talking about a low-end device.
In terms of performance, the hardware has similar performance to a Galaxy S3 from Samsung, enough to perform simple tasks without stuttering, such as browsing, casual gaming and email. Pure Android was a wise choice by the manufacturer for the system to run more fluidly. There aren't many pre-installed apps, only 28, a plus point of Veloce.
Apparently, the tablet Tectoy was designed for use in landscape position, because in portrait position, the volume buttons are inverted, that is, up the volume lowers, and pressing down increases the volume.
After a day of use, it was possible to notice that its performance and finish do not disappoint. The proposal to deliver a good cost benefit seems to come to fruition with the Veloce. In the price range up to R$400,00, the Tectoy tablet deserves attention.
