Monica's Gang will have adventures alongside the Justice League

The Book Biennial is taking place this week and it has served to Mauricio de Sousa, together with Panini publisher and DC Entertainment made an announcement that had comic book and comic book fans excited: Monica's Gang will leave for new adventures with the DC heroes.

Monica's Gang: What you need to know

Monica's Gang brings together the essential points for understanding the news, its practical use, and the main implications for readers.

The meeting between the characters of the two universes will appear in the December issues of the comics Monica, Chives, smudge, Magali, bento boy, Monica's Gang e Monica's Young Gang, which will extend the partnership until the January edition.

The launch of the partnership is scheduled for Comic Con Experience, which will take place between the 6th and 9th of December this year.

According to a statement published by Panini, the gang will meet with the Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Aquaman. But not just the heroes: the villains Joker e Cat Woman will also appear in the comics.

"For almost 60 years, my comics have entertained many generations of Brazilian readers. Now, all of them, like me, will enjoy this very special moment: the crossover between Monica and her friends and the DC Comics superheroes.", said Mauricio de Sousa in the released statement.

The lines chosen for the drawings will be made by Mauricio de Sousa Produções and the scripts for the comic book adventures will be made in partnership with both the Brazilian producer and DC.

"If you find it impossible to mix the universe of the Limoeiro neighborhood with the atmospheres of Metropolis, Gotham City and Paradise Island, get ready for the big surprise to come in our publications“, said Marco M. Lupoi, director of publications at Grupo Panini.

In an interview with UOL, Mauricio said he is excited about the results, even with the partnership not yet fully developed: “It's been a nice job of research, drawing technique and everything else, and in a way it's showing another side of our studio. The relationship is very good, and maybe this opens the way for more material of this type, it will depend on the result."

Crossover with Crazy Boy

At the Bienal do Livro, too, Mauricio de Sousa launched another crossover, but this time with the characters of Ziraldo.

Their book is called MMMMM – Monica and Crazy Boy at Magic Mountain. The plot is an amazing story created by Manuel Filho and illustrated by the two artists that will be launched at the Bienal itself.

Among the news of the class, we will also have the film with real actors playing the most beloved group of comics.

With the name Monica's Gang – Ties, the story is the same as a graphic novel released in 2013. It was written and designed by the brothers Vitor e Lu Cafaggi.
