This week Apple released the second beta of iOS 11 and first public version for users who want to test it out. Apple OS 11 was announced at the beginning of June at WWDC 2017. Here, we have already talked about some news that iOS will bring to iPhones, iPads and iPod touch.

This isn't the first time Apple has released a beta version of your operating system for the public to test. The difference, perhaps, between iOS 9 and iOS 10, is that the iOS 11 is much more stable than other operating systems. In a way, if you like to use the new features before everyone else, it's an incentive to test this version of the OS.

At the same time, the message is worth: as it is a beta, some apps and functions may not work as expected, just as your device's battery can run out dramatically faster. Therefore, we recommend that you do not use a beta on your main device or, if you decide to use it, that you know the risks.

Before anything else, do the backup your device. Whether to have recent data saved, to avoid losing any important documents or in case you decide to downgrade to iOS 10 again.

  • Go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Backup and carry out the process;
  • On your computer, connected to iTunes, back up your device.

to download the iOS 11 profile, get in on Apple Software Beta Program (clickable) and sign up or sign in with your Apple ID in “Sign up” or “Sign in”, respectively.

In the “Guide for Public Betas” tab, choose the “iOS” option and in “Get Started”, click on “enroll your iOS Device”.

It is worth remembering that this process is much simpler being done on the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch than on the computer.

Tapping the link will send you to Settings and given an “iOS 11 Profile” to accept. accept. The smartphone will reset and then, in “Settings” > “Software Update”, the Public Beta do iOS 11.
