“LG and Netflix have a long history of pioneering the market, including the launch of the industry's first networked Blu-ray player to offer streaming Netflix content, launched in 2008, which created a new category of internet-connected consumer electronics,” says Dr. Skott Ahn, president of LG.

A Netflix will be one of the first to offer content Ultra HD 4K to consumers. Streaming will be the main way for consumers to receive ultra definition content.

LG's 2014 lineup of Ultra HD TVs are designed to include the latest standards in connectivity, content protection and product encoding, meaning they're ready to handle 4K streaming. The key to ensuring this capability is its built-in 4K HEVC 60p encoder. LG TVs decode signals transmitted in H.264 and HEVC H.265 formats, transforming them into 30p or 60p.
