The controversy between Uber and Taxi Drivers is still far from over. In recent weeks we have seen ameaças, persecutions and even attacks on the app's drivers. Bills in São Paulo and Brasília that aim to ban it have already been voted on and are close to being approved. But does all this make sense?

Os taxi drivers claim that the application illegally practices the transport service. already the Uber says it is a technology company that connects private driver partners with users.

One of the main complaints is that Uber drivers do not pay taxes. Therefore, the staff of G1 gathered some data on the operating costs of each service in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and created a comparison so you can understand the main differences. Look:

To be able to work on the app, you need a registration and some documents, such as CNH and criminal background certificate, which are analyzed by the company. No training course is required, but drivers are evaluated by all passengers they transport.

Taxi drivers need a city hall license: in São Paulo, Condutax is also required, a registration that is valid for 5 years and costs R$ 415. illegal, it is common to rent (in SP, between R$ 150 and R$ 200/day) or sale of licenses (in Rio it can cost up to R$ 180 thousand and, in São Paulo, R$ 150 thousand). Payment is made only through the credit card, which is linked to the user's registration in Uber.

Uber has already been banned in some regions of the world and, as in Brazil, it has been a reason for conflicts in France. In other places, such as New York and London, the app operates normally.
