The important historical context in the final season of Brooklyn 99
The eighth season will deal with serious themes, because due to the events of COVID-19 and protests of George floyd, the scripts had to be adapted to fit and respect the current scenario that involved our society.
In the first episodes of the series, the COVID-19 vaccines are mentioned, which at the time were still in development, and the characters, in the first episode, appear wearing masks, to, in addition to contextualizing the current moment in which the series takes place, also encourage the use of masks by fans as a way to fight the virus. In addition, the new season, during several episodes, has several references to the George Floyd protests and the abuses of the American police.
Brooklyn 99 final season plot
The series' final year begins with the police station's employees gradually returning to work after experiencing the coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19; they bring several references to the vaccine, social distance and the use of mask contextualizing that moment they are living.
