A forum user Reddit posted this weekend an image of what would be the third generation of chromecast, which he bought from a local store in Best Buy in the United States, which appears to have gone on sale ahead of schedule. While none of the internal specs have been released due to this leak, we can see how the Google changed the design of the beloved streaming dongle.

The published comparison image shows the new 3rd generation Chromecast alongside a 2nd generation model. The differences are clear: both share the same basic design, with a circular body that houses the components and an HDMI cable to connect to the TV.
