New leak suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 should feature a thinner design and larger screens compared to its previous versions. Check it out

Last Monday, 24th, the portal Android Headline, bringing information from the informant OnLeaks, shared images of the Galaxy z fold7, next device in the line of foldable smartphones da Samsung. The renders point to a thinner design and larger screens. Check out the new design and possible specs for the South Korean company's next big launch.

Galaxy Z Fold7 leaked design

According to the leaks, the Galaxy z fold7 will have a significantly more compact design than its predecessors, measuring approximately 4.5 mm when open and 9.5 mm when folded (compared to 5.6 mm and 12.1 mm, respectively, for the previous model).

Despite the reduction in thickness, if the news is confirmed, the Samsung remains behind some Chinese rivals, such as Oppo Find N5 (4.2 mm) and the Honor Magic V3 (4.4 mm), but it surpasses the smartphone tri-folds (with three hinges) from Huawei, Mate XT Ultimate (4.8 mm open).

Even if it doesn't get the title of "world's thinnest foldable", the leak suggests that the device should have dimensions of 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5 mm, which could indicate the implementation of displays even bigger.

The device is expected to feature an internal screen (with the phone unfolded) of 8.2 inches, surpassing the Oppo Find N5 (8.12 inches), in addition to a 6.5-inch external screen. However, there is no information about refresh rates, brightness or protection.

Possible specifications

Specifications should follow what was done on the Galaxy Z Fold SE

O Android Headline analyzes that the specifications of the new generation of the South Korean brand's foldable should be very similar to those present in the line Galaxy S25 and in the last generations of Galaxy z fold, especially the Galaxy Z Fold SE, released last year. Check it out:

Cameras

So far, one of the most consistent leaks about the new device points to a camera setup very similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold SE. The device is expected to feature a triple setup, including a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to remain at 4 MP.

Processor

The portal Android Headline predicts the choice of chip Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (version of Snapdragon 8 Elite optimized for Samsung devices), same chip used in the line Galaxy S25.

According to the leaks, the use of Snapdragon 8 Elite is more plausible due to alleged problems with the chip Exynos 2500 would be passing through the production line, but rumors do not completely rule out a version with Samsung's own chipset.

Storage

In another recent leak, according to the user PandaFlash, on the social network X, Galaxy z fold7 should arrive on the market with 12GB of RAM in all its versions, with internal storage possibilities between 256GB and 1TB.

Battery

Also according to the portal, the new generation is expected to remain the same as the previous ones in terms of battery, bringing the same 4.400mAh as the fifth and sixth generations of the Galaxy z fold, but with better optimization via software.

When is the Galaxy Z Fold 6 expected to launch?

Forecasts indicate the announcement of the new device in the first half of this year – Image: Android Headline/OnLeaks

Historically, the Samsung announces the Z Fold line in July or August, since, as an example, in 2024, the Galaxy z fold6 was revealed on July 10. If the pattern holds, an announcement in the early second half of the year may be possible.

Until the Samsung officially reveal the ZFold7, every detail — from thickness to price — should be considered rumor, since the company has a history of tweaking specifications until the last moment (as it did with the battery of the ZFold3, reduced from 4.500 to 4.400 mAh weeks before the announcement).

And you? What are your expectations for the new foldable Samsung? Leave your answer in the comments.
