With just under two months to go until the end of 2022, we are starting plans for 2023! And nothing better than enjoying an extended vacation or just that day of rest on a good holiday, right? Today we are going to show you the holidays of 2023 and some more information for you to plan and enjoy the best that these occasions can provide.
2023 holidays
Of the national holidays that occur on fixed days every year, in 2023 there will be 12 of them that fall on weekdays, and only two — New Year and Easter — will occur on the weekend. Check the dates below:
January
- 1st of January – Sunday (New Year 2023).
February

- 20 of February – Monday (Carnival 2023);
- 21 of February – Tuesday (Carnival 2023);
- 22 of February – Wednesday (Ash Wednesday – optional point until
14 p.m.).
April

- 07 of April – Friday (Good Friday 2023 — Passion of Christ);
- 09 of April – Sunday (Easter 2023);
- 21 of April – Friday (Tiradentes).
May
- 1st of May – Monday (Labor Day).
June
- 08 of June – Thursday (Corpus Christi 2023).
September

- 7 of September – Thursday (Independence of Brazil).
October
- 12 of October – Thursday (Our Lady of Aparecida).
November
- 2 of November – Thursday (All Souls);
- 15 of November – Wednesday (Proclamation of the Republic).
December

- 24 of December – Sunday (Christmas Eve – optional point after 14 pm);
- 25 of December – Monday (Christmas);
- 31 of December – Sunday (New Year's Eve 2023 – optional point
- after 14h).
Carnival, Semana Santa and Corpus Christi are already part of the long holidays program for 2023. In addition to these holidays, it is still possible to amend others, such as Tiradentes (April 21, Friday), the Labor Day (on May 1, Monday), the Independence Day (Thursday, September 7), the Feast of Our Lady of Aparecida (October 12, together with Children's Day, Thursday), Dead (on the 2nd of November, Thursday) and the Christmas (on December 25, Monday).
