Bates Motel is a horror icon, both in the universe of Psychosis, as well as the series launched in 2013 inspired by the universe created by Hitchcock. In the trailer for Maxxine, we see Mia Goth's character in front of the hotel, with the structure identical to the film and series. Apparently, it's just the film set, but it already gives us the feeling that something is wrong there. The character even has a hallucination of her past when she sees a figure of Pearl in the window of the Bates Motel. What will Maxine do on this film set?

Richard Ramirez, real name of the killer, who became known for using satanic images on the bodies of his victims — in a certain section of the trailer, it is possible to see a corpse with a pentagram scrawled on his face, for example. Night Stalker was responsible for the deaths of 13 people in a short period of time. On August 29, 1985, the year Maxxine, he was finally captured by the police.

A great curiosity that could raise theories began to be discussed on social media. In the documentary made by Netflix (Night Stalker: Torture and Terror), one of Richard Ramirez's victims was named Maxine.

The film seems to mix several horror film references, some more explicit, such as Psychosis, and others that are more subjective. In a certain scene in the trailer, Maxine receives a package and appears in the hallway, in what appears to be a hotel, to pick it up. The excerpt lasts just a few seconds, but they are enough to identify the similarities with the Overlook hotel, from the film The illuminated. The room has the same color palette, and the lamp appears to be almost the same!

Could Maxine be staying in another version of Overlook?

Evil Dead

Evil Dead It's a mega classic of horror films. With its scary trash style, this is one of those productions that you need to watch with someone, during the day, and with your eyes half closed. In one of the final seconds of the trailer, we see a character with makeup characteristic of a possession opening her eyes in a tight space. The excerpt recalls the parts of Evil Dead where the entity appears trapped in a trap.
