Showmetech's editors Philip Vidal e Luis Costa had the opportunity to follow live on YouTube the most awaited award ceremony in the world of video games: The Game Awards 2020. With some surprises and full of announcements of new titles, the event featured games for all tastes and styles .
The Winners of The Game Awards 2020
Not surprisingly, the overproduction of N, The Last of Us Part II, took the grand prize of the night for “Game of the Year”. Highlight for indie games Hades e Among Us, who won two awards each during the event. Below you can see the winners in each category:

All announcements at The Game Awards 2020
From games anticipated by enthusiasts to unexpected surprises, The Game Awards 2020 ceremony featured several announcements of new games for consoles and PC. Below you can see all the news revealed during the awards:
Sepiroth in Super Smash Bros. ultimate
Sephiroth, the famous Final Fantasy villain, will join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third fighter in the Fighters Pass Vol. two. Six characters in total join the pass, alongside new stages and music. The complete set is slated for release on December 31, 2021. Arms' Min Min and Steve from Minecraft are two other characters that were previously added.
Perfect Dark
Developer The Initiative presented, at The Game Awards 2020, a cinematic trailer of their new game: Perfect Dark. The game is still in early development, but after seeing these stylish visuals of its world in the near future, we're looking forward to seeing more.
Back 4 Blood
From the creators of Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock, Back 4 Blood It's a very disgusting (and very cool!) video game. There are giant and horrible zombies for you to slaughter along with 3 other players! Along with the cinematic trailer, Turtle Rock also showed off a gameplay trailer. The game will be released on June 22, 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Crimson Desert
From South Korean developer Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert is an MMO that combines fantasy and action with incredible stories in a medieval world full of magic (and dragons!). The game is scheduled to be released in late 2021.
Ark 2
To our surprise, the actor Vin Diesel is the star of Ark 2. After the trailer at The Game Awards 2020, an animated series based on the game was also presented, arriving in 2022.
Dragon Age
the last game Dragon Age was released in 2014, Dragon Age: Inquisition. The next in the series was announced at The Game Awards in 2018, with concept art shown last year. Now, we were able to take a fresh look at the highly anticipated game to come.
Master Chief in Fortnite
In December, fans of Fortnite found evidence that the franchise star Halo, Master Chief, would come to Fortnite. Now, developer Epic Games has officially announced it, alongside a few other interesting items. Master Chief is available in Fortnite now, along with a Halo map, Blood Gulch. some characters from The Walking Dead are also coming to the game.
We are OFK
We are OFK is the new interactive series from the co-designer of Hyper Light Drifter, Teddy Dief. Each week for five weeks, a new episode will air, allowing players to experience the world as an indie pop group called OFK. The band performed at The Game Awards 2020 yesterday, and they had a really cool vibe.
It Takes Two
It Takes Two, by Hazelight, is a cooperative platform adventure game. It looks very charming and will be released on March 26, 2021.
Season
Season looks like an amazing game. Scavengers Studio has revealed its second game, which will be available for PlayStation and Windows PC via Steam. In it, players will explore a village and record the history of the world before a "cataclysm". A release date was not given.
road 96
From the team behind Valiant Hearts, road 96 is a procedural narrative adventure game. The game has a lot of '90s pop culture, but no release date or platform was revealed for the title yesterday at The Game Awards 2020.
Open roads
The developer of the immersive indie game Gone Home, Fullbright, has a new game in the works: Open roads, starring Keri Russell (from the series The Americans) and Kaitlyn Dever (from the series Booksmart). It is about a mother-daughter journey through “a series of long-abandoned family estates”, apparently on the same footing as What Remains of Edith Finch.
evil west
imagine taking Red Dead Redemption 2 and make it a dark fantasy. From Flying Wild Hog and Focus Home Interactive, evil west it's a western game, but with vampires and other monsters. It is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X in 2021.
Endless dungeon
Sega and Amplitude Studios have a new game called Endless Dungeonn coming to both Windows PCs and consoles. Apparently, it's not a sequel to the previous game, Dungeon of the Endless. However, from what we could see in the trailer, it looks like a fun and interesting title.
The Callisto Protocol
From the developer Striking Distance, The Callisto Protocol is a scary game that resembles the style of Dead Space. And that makes a lot of sense, because this is a game from Dead Space developer Glen Schofield. The title arrives in 2022.
Mass Effect
The last world premiere before the “Game of the Year” award showed a new chapter in the saga Mass Effect. Before the teaser ended, the screen only showed a simple message: Mass Effect will continue.
