The console market should earn a strong name after decades of dispute between Nintendo, PlayStation e Xbox. last year the Google revealed the Agones Project, an open source technology (open source, in free translation) that can run games on dedicated servers, delivering a fluid experience for users on any machine. The first company to embrace the idea was Ubisoft, offering Assassin's Creed: Odyssey to run on Agones as a demonstration of the power of the Google. However, for good performance, an internet speed of at least 25 mb/s is required.

Um tweet quite curious of Google filled the internet with speculation about what the company will bring that is “Google's vision of the future of gaming.” What many internet users are thinking is that the Google may be bringing a new streaming of games. Speculation aside, on the 19th the world will know what it is.

During these 364 days that have passed, there have been no further announcements of the project. The service is restricted to developers, and we don't know which other companies are collaborating, nor when the service will be released to the public. However, on the 19th everything can be clarified.

O Google reserved a space in Game Developers Conference (GDC) on the 19th at 14 pm. The description of keynote is: “Get together — Google has a game changer to show”. At least something big is to be expected.

The biggest speculation is of a console, with evidence dating back years. This week one of the rumors became more concrete: a control patent was discovered by the Google.

You can see a very common architecture, following the traditional lines of a console control. There's no touch panel like the PS4, it doesn't split with the Nintendo Switch, and it doesn't even look as ergonomic as the Xbox One. Nonetheless, Google control presents its unique features.

We can immediately notice the presence of a button for the Assistant, which reveals voice command feature. It also does not detail whether there will be reference to letters on the buttons. A battery compartment is suggested, but also a USB port for charging. The control seems to align with the proposal of a cloud-based console, as the design itself has a light air.

on the eve of GDC 2019, the discovery of this patent already prepares us for what we can see at the event. Kotaku fonts claim that the Google should act as a game publisher, in addition to investing heavily in purchasing developers.

Google will not be alone in the gaming cloud

Cloud-based NVIDIA Shield TV Console with Android OS
Since 2013, Nvidia already has its line of cloud-based consoles that run the Android operating system.

Case or Google make your gaming platform official in the cloud, you will not be the only company to bet on this new market. THE Sony already has its streaming service since 2014, the PlayStation Now (not available in Brazil). A ecosystem announced Project xCloud, which should have its first public tests later this year. Meanwhile, the Nvidia has been selling the Shield line of cloud-based consoles since 2013 (running Android and with Google Assistant).

The arrival of Google to the market of cloud gaming will not be in the vanguard position, but of an important name to add, giving greater value to the category.
