Wagner Moura is featured in Civil War trailer

If you are a fan of war films, you will enjoy this new feature! A A24 released today, Wednesday, December 13rd, on all your social networks, the first trailer for Civil War (Civil War in the original in English), the film that will take place in a dystopian future and will portray internal conflicts in the United States.

The film, distributed worldwide by A24 and Diamond Films in Brazil, was written and directed by Alex Garland, the same director of Ex Machina – Artificial Instinct (2014) e Annihilation (2018), and starring the Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, star of Tropa de Elite (2007), and Kirsten Dunst, Mary Jane in the trilogy Spider-Man (2002-2007).

Plot

The film takes place in a dystopian future in the United States, marked by an intense civil war. In the plot, 19 states decide to secede from the Union, triggering a major conflict between the Western Forces of Texas and California against the military force of the central government. In the midst of this chaos, the stars Wagner Moura e Kirsten Dunst take on the roles of two journalists, who risk their lives to cover the developments of the war.

Cast

When it comes to casting, Guerra Civil brings big names to compose this super production. The film will star Brazilian actor Wagner Moura, star of Elite Squad (2007) and the series Narcos (2015). Recently, the actor also ventured into the world of dubbing and brought the character Lobo to life in the original language in the film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022).

Kirsten Dunst, Mary Jane in the trilogy Spider-Man (2002-2007), will also be the protagonist of this new production. The actress has stood out over the years in productions such as Marie Antoinette (2006) e Melancholy (2011), which earned him the Saturn Award for Best Actress.

Other names, such as Stephen McKinley Henderson, The Edge Between Us (2016), and Cailee Spaeny, Priscilla (2023), complete the cast.

Release date

Brazilians eager for the debut of the film's first trailer will have to wait a little longer to find out the official release date in Brazil. So far, only the release date in the United States has been announced, scheduled for April 26th 2024. However, the film is expected to reach Brazilian cinemas in 2024.
