Everything you need to know about the new PlayStation Plus

Just a few days to go arrival of the new PlayStation Plus in Brazil. Being a reformulation of the service that already exists today, the novelty will bring together the best in PS Plus e PlayStation Now, combining game releases and streaming on the console. In Asia, the new service has already been launched and has accumulated some complaints, mainly in relation to charges of extra amounts to some users.

One of the novelties is the arrival of levels, accessed from the paid monthly fee. In addition, more than 700 games of the most different genres will be available to subscribers, in addition to the presence of backward compatibility. Check out below everything you need to know about the new PlayStation Plus, which will hit the Brazilian market on June 13th.

The news of the new PlayStation Plus

In summary, the reformulation of PS Plus will unite two products already offered by Sony: PlayStation Plus, a service already known to most users, and PS Now, which provides games in the cloud. According to Sony, the intention is to offer a more diverse library to subscribers, increasing the experience of these users.

The main changes regarding Sony's service are the three new levels offered. In addition to the basic plan, which is now called Essential, there will be two levels up: Extra e Deluxe. The main difference, other than price, will be the update frequency of game offers on the Playstation Store. In the most expensive plans – Extra and Deluxe –, there will be two release dates for new games; In addition to the first, in the middle of the month there will be one more addition of offers. The Essential plan will continue with the tradition of a single date, on the first Tuesday of the month.

Therefore, with the arrival of the new PlayStation Plus, two things will change: the number of plans available for subscription and the release dates of games, as well as the quantity offered. In the international market, there will still be a fourth plan, the Premium, but it will not be available in Brazil, at least at this first moment.

No blog to PlayStation, some information was detailed about how the new PlayStation Plus will work here in Brazil. To start the conversation, it is important to point out that the streaming will not be available nationwide. As a result, the following plans will be available:

in markets without streaming in the cloud — like Brazil — the playstation plus deluxe will be offered at a lower price compared to the Premium, and will include a catalog of famous classic games from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations to download and play, as well as time-limited game experimentation. Games available on the new PlayStation Plus

Nova PlayStation Plus will have more than 700 games, of the most different genres. Among them, great successes such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, Bloodborne, Demon's Souls, Ghost of Tsushima, Hollow Knight, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us Remastered, Tekken 2 e return.

According to Sony, the catalog will always be expanding. “We are working with the creative developers at PlayStation Studios and partner studios to include some of the best gaming experiences available with a library that will be updated regularly. We will be releasing more details about the games we will have on the new PlayStation Plus service soon.”, says in note.

Backward compatibility will also be present in the new PlayStation Plus and can be enjoyed by subscribers of the most expensive plan. In it, it will be possible to access titles of PlayStation1, PS2, PS3 e PSP via download. In addition, original games for older consoles may have trophies, if the developer decides to include them, of course.

What will happen to the old accounts?

Starting next June 13th, all active subscriptions will be automatically migrated to the Essential plan, receiving the same benefits already offered in the current subscription. If the user wants to take advantage of the news and benefits of the more expensive plans, it will be necessary to upgrade to the chosen modality.

Officially, the new PS Plus has already been released earlier this week in all countries in Asia, with the exception of Japan, where it will launch on June 2nd. In the Americas, it will be available to PlayStation users from June 13th; the last places to receive the platform will be Australia, New Zealand and Europe, which will only have access at the end of June, on the 23rd.
