After about 14 years using the protocol WPA2 for network security Wi-Fi, the time has finally come to abandon it. This is because the WPA3, its successor, is already being certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Security on Wi-Fi networks is never too much
even though Safety in some respects, it is natural that the protocol WPA2 is already outdated, as with any type of technology.
As a result, the update proposed by the Wi-Fi Alliance, which is the developer of this type of network wireless, is to bring gradually – in a few years – the changes.
The WPA3 changes
But then, what are these changes? the focus of WPA3 will basically protect your network Wi-Fi of hackers. So, it will not be possible to keep trying, for example, to guess your network password, as the protocol will limit the number of incorrect attempts.
More about invaders: hackers will not be able to interact with data that traveled before your login on a given network. That is, much of the information will be safe.
However, it is not possible to actually determine when the WPA3 will be fully implemented on our everyday devices. Still, it is expected that, upon completing the certification process, new devices – both routers and smartphones, tablets and notebooks – will already be compatible.
And speaking of compatibility, there's not much to worry about. Protocol-compatible devices WPA2 will be compatible with networks WPA3 and vice versa.
