Converting a Wii into a Mac Mini

The youtuber Luke miani is well known for its content related to technology, mainly in changes it makes to devices. His latest invention was turning a Nintendo Wii into a Mac mini, device that comes equipped with an Apple M1 processor.

Miani made a video showing the process, in which he 3D printed some components to connect the Apple board to the Wii housing, as well as an adapter to keep the original plug in place. It is also worth remembering that the Mac mini has a power supply of 150 Watts, which is almost three times greater than the power offered by the original Nintendo Wii power adapter.

The youtuber added a small 12 Volt fan to minimize the possible temperature increases of the device, even if the performance of the M1 be compatible with the MacBook Air — which doesn't use forced cooling.

Overall, the project proved successful, with all ports accessible through the original Wii controller compartment. At the end of the video, Miani also points out that it is possible to emulate games of Wii e PS2 in this new Mac mini, in 4K resolution. This is technology showing that it can always reinvent itself!

The trip that lasted only 73 seconds ended up taking the lives of 6 astronauts and the teacher Christa McAuliffe, the first civilian teacher to embark on a space journey. Christa was chosen from 11.000 applicants for NASA's "Teacher in Space" project. The documentary responsible for finding these wrecks is called In Search of The Bermuda Triangle and will be released on November 22 on the channel The History Channel.

In addition to McAuliffe, the mission took the life of Commander Francis R. “Dick” Scobee; pilot Michael J. Smith; experts Ronald E. McNair, Ellison S. Onizuka, and Judith A. Resnik; and payload expert Gregory B. Jarvis. In 2018, ISS astronauts completed the science classes McAuliffe had planned for the trip.
