Fluent Design
This Windows update will finally introduce the Fluent Design, new visual proposal from Microsoft. You will notice system and app changes, with translucent backgrounds, light effects, motion and depth.
For example, open the calculator and see its fully “acrylic” background, with your mouse illuminating the keys. However, Microsoft hasn't applied the idea itself to all its programs, which doesn't help other developers adopt the look. If you want to try it, there are good apps in Fluent Design, like MyTube.
Start Menu and Action Center
When you turn on the computer, you can already notice changes. O Start menu changed discreetly. Now his background blur is in “acrylic” effect, no longer translucent. This is part of Fluent Design. It is also possible to resize the menu diagonally.
A Action Center It also has the acrylic effect. Notifications are now displayed as standalone cards, with the first in the group always being expanded. Notifications, when shown on the desktop, are also in acrylic, and the “close” button is no longer an X, it's a right arrow.
My People
This feature should have been released in the Windows 10 Creators Update, but has been delayed to this update. With it, you can have quick access to messengers with selected people. The person stays on the workbar, like a program. When you click on it, you'll see a hub with all the apps you're connected to.
“Click and drag” is also supported for easy file sharing. However, it all depends on the developer, so there are currently few options for apps, limited to calendar, email and Skype. The Unigram app, a Telegram client, also supports the feature, but Facebook Messenger does not.
If My People is more adopted, we may see more legal uses emerge. On Skype, if someone sends you an emoticon, it appears animated on your desktop, above the person's contact. So let's hope that more developers support and we have faster access to our friends in other apps.
Pinned people and other recent contacts now appear at the top of the Windows sharing interface. Another tactic to make messaging faster.
Sync with mobile

Microsoft has already announced with all the letters that Windows 10 Mobile will not receive more features, only bug fixes and security updates. With this, the mobile focus will truly be on Android and iOS, at a level of synchronization never seen even in Windows 10 Mobile.
A Cortana on Android now notifies the PC when you receive calls. The function "Continue on PC“, allows you to share tasks you were doing on your cell phone with your computer. Then a notification will appear on the computer asking if you want to open such applications at the same point where you were on the smartphone.
O Edge, now available on Android and iOS, is also part of Microsoft's new tactic. Because it is now possible to synchronize browser data between your devices, even if they are not Windows!
OneDrive Files On-Demand
One of the coolest things about having OneDrive installed on your PC, in Windows 8.1, was having access to files and only downloading them when you opened them. In Windows 10, the function was inexplicably removed. You could only see downloaded files. Now Files On-Demand is here to save us!
With Files On-Demand you'll see everything on your OneDrive, being able to choose which files to download and which will be uploaded only when you want to open them. The feature is back improved, now with greater integration with the system, being able to be used by streaming in apps and even have access in the Linux subsystem.
Microsoft Edge
The browser has not received major changes. The look remains the same, with the acrylic top bar the most noticeable difference. Other new features worth noting:
- Annotations in e-books and PDFs;
- Pin sites to the taskbar;
- Read websites, e-books and PDFs aloud;
- Edit bookmark URL;
- View and manage site permissions;
- Greater stability and agility;
- Migrate cookies and Chrome settings;
- EdgeHTML 16.
Gaming
In the last update Microsoft introduced the Game Mode, which promised to improve gaming performance. However, tests showed that the "boost" has practically no effect and some games even have problems.
Microsoft says it has done changes in Game Modand, to fix bugs and give a better boost. It is now possible to activate it with a click on the “game bar”.
O Mixer starts streaming faster, as well as being able to choose which audio sources should be streaming.
In the settings, there is a separate section called “Xbox network“, to view the online connection to Live, latency and problem diagnosis. A new section for the all-new feature “TruePlay“, which when activated will collect information from the computer in order to investigate whether you are cheating. In some games it will be mandatory to activate TruePlay.
The Task Manager will also be used more by gamers, because it now shows the state of the video card.
New battery usage setting
Choose more easily how to use the battery. Clicking on the battery icon on the taskbar opens a small menu with a bar where you can slide between better power saving and better performance, with four levels. Microsoft claims it has made more system changes to save more battery anyway.
Windows Mixed Reality

With the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the Windows Mixed Reality gains strength. There are now several VR glasses for WMR and more apps, coming soon to Steam will run with Microsoft's virtual reality.
If you don't have a VR glasses, no problem, you can play AR with the Mixed Reality Viewer. With it you can see 3D objects in the real world, through your camera.
edit and create
The Photos app is better. Smart, now he can identify people's faces and separate, showing a section only with photos of that person.
You can search by typing the name of cities and also by characteristics of the photo. Look for pictures with a smile, with masks, luggage and whatever comes to your mind. He thinks!
O Story Remix it's like an updated Movie Maker, without so many features, but with 3D effects, element anchoring and special effects. It has a bit of the heritage of the three Windows Phone video creation apps made by Nokia and Microsoft. Try creating your stories with the app.
Microsoft Store

The Windows Store gave way to the Microsoft Store, unifying the PC and Xbox store for good. Furthermore, the new store will sell more than apps, movies and games, but also hardware from Microsoft and partners.
Safety
Windows Defender isn't just antivirus anymore. As Windows Defender Exploit Guard, we also have a ransomware free, it protects your computer from programs that try to maliciously modify your system settings.
Windows 10 no longer uses SMBv1, making use of the latest version of SMBv2, another measure to add greater security. If you want, you can also block the access of unknown programs to specific folders and disks.
