Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now available for Android smartphone

The expansion to other platforms is part of Microsoft's new strategy, which has been implemented by Satya Nadella since taking over the company. Soon Android and iOS should also gain support for the personal assistant Cortana.

In April of this year Nadella revealed that mobile versions of Office had been downloaded more than 100 million times since June 2013. The company has partnered with manufacturers such as Samsung and LG to bring its apps pre-installed on Android smartphones.

Word, Excel e Power point are now available for free on the Google Play Store. The apps are compatible with devices that have at least 1GB of RAM and run the version 4.4 KitKat or higher.
