At an event held in the city of São Paulo, influencers and journalists were invited to see the Xiaomi 14T. The model could be an interesting option against premium smartphones from Samsung, Realme and Apple and stands out for having tools such as an object eraser and support for professional video recording. See all the details.
Design
With an official weight of 195 grams and a thickness of 7,8 millimeters, the Xiaomi 14t arrives in Brazil in two colors: Titan Grey e Titan Black. Its edges are finished in aluminum and the model has curved edges instead of straight ones, something that should help with long-term use. The back with a material that resembles metal completes the sophisticated effect.
The fingerprint reader, which will be used to unlock the screen and confirm the user's identity, is located under the screen. There are only three buttons: two for volume control and another textured button to turn the screen on and off. The battery will be charged via USB-C connection.
Rounding out the design details, Xiaomi's new smartphone is IP68 certified, which makes it resistant to dust and submersion in fresh water for up to 1,5 meters for up to 30 minutes.
Fabric
The Chinese company placed a screen Crystal Res AMOLED de 6,67" with 1,5K resolution (1220 x 2712) and variable refresh rate from 01 to 144 Hz. During the launch event, it was highlighted that the model is ideal for use in environments with high sunlight, as the peak brightness of 4.000 nits will be more than enough for good content viewing.
Xiaomi also mentioned that the artificial intelligence present in the processor can identify the color temperature (up to 68 billion colors) and brightness based on the usage scenarios and time of day, ensuring ideal comfort for the eyes. We'll see how this works in everyday life, but the proposal is interesting.
Processor
Although many companies are betting on Qualcomm to launch premium smartphones, Xiaomi, going the way of Samsung with the Galaxy S24 FE, has partnered with Mediatek. That's why the Xiaomi 14T was launched with the Mediatek Dimension 8300 Ultra, which has a four-nanometer architecture and a maximum clock speed of 3,35 GHz.

Regarding the Dimensity 8200 Ultra, the company promises a 20% increase in CPU performance and a 60% improvement in GPU performance. The company claims that this combination makes multitasking smoother and more efficient, while also extending battery life with better power efficiency.
System and interface
A Xiaomi has completely abandoned its old interface MIUI and from now on, all models launched by the company will come out with the HyperOS factory-installed, which, in addition to being based on the Android 14, will allow several customizations according to the user's taste.
The operating system also supports phone link, which allows integration with Windows PCs to view notifications, make calls, and send messages.
For those who like to always have their operating system updated, the Chinese company highlights that all buyers of the Xiaomi 14T will have five years of free updates, both OS (up to Android 19) and security packages sent over the months.
Use of AI
Following the trend of Android market competitors such as Samsung and Realme, Xiaomi is also investing in artificial intelligence to add value to its users' daily lives. The model supports Google Gemini, which allows conversation and use of camera functions.
The first new feature is support for the Circle to Search (internationally called Circle To Search With Google) on models other than Samsung devices and Google Pixel. This way, it will no longer be necessary to take a screenshot and ask for it to be read by Google Lens, as the smartphone can read what is on the screen, just by pressing the home button.
Basic AI editing tools are here: the gallery has features like AI Eraser Pro, which can erase intrusive people and objects, all using artificial intelligence. Speaking of AI Image Editing, Xiaomi guarantees that it will be possible to expand photos to have the perfect shots to post on social media.
Video creation has not been left out: AI Film makes it easy to create short, cinematic videos from multiple photos and videos recorded on your smartphone. After sending text commands to the native app, simply wait for the content to be created by AI.
Speaking of AI Portrait, this feature generates personalized avatars, allowing users to effortlessly showcase their unique style.
O AI Interpreter arrives to allow people to communicate with those who speak a different language, as it is integrated into the voice calling application and even video meetings. It is a function similar to what we saw in Interpreter mode, which debuted with the launch of the Galaxy S24 line in January this year.
O AI Notes, which can organize drafts into topics, make summaries and even complement texts created by the user. Finally, the AI Recorder It can not only identify another person's language, but also perform real-time translations via text, so you have everything recorded.
Memory and storage
All variants of the Xiaomi 14T arrive in Brazil with 12 GB of RAM, more than enough to run heavier games or several applications simultaneously. Regarding storage, there is a 512 GB option. The model does not have a microSD card slot.
In addition, Xiaomi provides an additional 8 GB in the Ultra Space cloud service, developed by the company itself.
Connectivity
With support for 5G networks, it will be possible to use up to two YES of the nano type on the device, but it also supports the activation of eSIMs. It will also be possible to connect to Wi-Fi 6E points.
The Bluetooth antenna follows the 5.4 standard and will allow connection to headphones with Hi-Res resolution and high range.
Battery and charging
Despite being extremely thin, the new device hits the market with a 5.000 mAh battery and support for 67W fast charging via cable, with the maximum capacity power source sent in the box. The model does not support wireless charging, unlike the Xiaomi 14T Pro, which will only be launched globally, not arriving in Brazil.
Cameras
A big attraction of the model launched today, Xiaomi's partnership with Leica, which began in 2022, was highlighted during the event. Due to this, there is a triple set of lenses on the back of the Xiaomi 14T.
The main 50 MP with aperture f / 1.7 It's a Leica Summilux (via the Sony IMX906 IMX sensor developed between the two companies) that promises to deliver vibrant colors and exceptional detail, even in low light. The 50MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens, both made by Leica, round out the game at the rear.
Photo optimization is done via both hardware and software; the captured image will be analyzed within seconds. For even greater quality, it will be possible to change the capture speed developed by Leica.
And there are two portrait modes: the Master Portrait captures portrait photos with enhanced depth, detail and more natural bokeh effect, while the Leica Portrait focuses more on portraits and achieves a more realistic and natural look. Reshape the aesthetics of photography with a century of accumulated optical experience.
Xiaomi emphasizes that thanks to its artificial intelligence system and Leica's expertise, the new smartphone can automatically correct photos without the need for any editing in a secondary application. Video recording has not been left aside and the model has the following modes:
- moviemode: It has a wider aspect ratio (2,39:1) and allows you to use effects like background blur and focus shift to create a cinematic look in real time. There is also the Rack Focus, which automatically switches between people in the scene.
- Director Mode: Offers advanced tools for those who want more control when filming, as if they were a professional filmmaker.
- MasterCinema: Records high-quality videos in HDR (high dynamic range) in Rec. 2020 format, capturing more details in light and dark areas. It records in up to 4K at 30 frames per second, giving image quality similar to human vision.
There is a video recording mode that allows the Xiaomi 1T to be connected to a pad or another smartphone so that the Chinese company's model is a great professional recording camera.
The front lens of the Xiaomi 14T is a 32 MP wide-angle lens with aperture f / 2.0 with a focal length equivalent to 25 mm. In addition to taking photos with a blurred background, the front lens can record videos in 4K quality at 30 frames per second.
Color corrections of photos taken with the lens on the front of the smartphone will also be automatically corrected by the processor's artificial intelligence.
Price and availability
The smartphone arrives in Brazil starting today, October 02, 2024, for R$5.999. It can now be purchased at Xiaomi official website and partners such as Casas Bahia. There is a one-year national warranty for all buyers.
Buyers of the new model get 3 months of YouTube Premium (which also gives you access to YouTube Music) and 6 months of the package 100 GB do Google One.
