Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro with up to 64MP camera

Confirming an image released by the Xiaomi in reference to the event on November 7th, the company made official, in São Paulo, the new generation of the most sought-after smartphone in Brazil in recent months: the Redmi Note 8. With the call to meet the “evolution of mobile photography”, the line consists of two models, the Note 8 being the evolution of the Notes 7 and Note 8 Pro, the world's first with a 64MP camera and the new MediaTek for premium intermediaries.

O Redmi Note 8 features a characteristic design of 2019 smartphones: infinite screen and top V-shaped notch to house the front camera. Its screen is a 6,3″ IPS LCD panel, and the glass is reinforced by Gorilla Glass 5 with speaker protection and splash proof.

On the front camera we have a 13 MP sensor and f/2.0 aperture, compatible with HDR, which can record videos at up to 1080P/30FPS.

O Redmi Note 8 comes equipped with processor Snapdragon 665, an 11nm octa-core from Qualcomm, 4000 mAh battery and is leaving the factory with the MIUI 10, Android 9.0 Pie, and the update to the MIUI 11 in the next weeks.

Notes redmi 8 Pro

Officialized worldwide in August of this year, the Notes redmi 8 Pro is more of an intermediary Xiaomi that combines a glass construction Gorilla Glass 5 and plastic, which gives a feeling of robustness while reducing the cost of production. It weighs around 200g, a bit heavy for an intermediate, and is 8,8mm thick. 

The display of the Notes redmi 8 Pro is 6,53 inches in size, IPS LCD technology and Full HD+ resolution. Thanks to a V-shaped cutout to house the 20MP front camera, the edges have shrunk to 4,2mm thick, which gives about 85% screen use. 

Inside, the smartphone Xiaomi has everything to be one of the best mid-range smartphones available in Brazil. The chosen platform, different from the Redmi Note 8, went to Helio G90T, MediaTek, manufactured in 12nm. she is a octa-core (eight-core), subdivided into two cores Cortex-A76 2.05GHz, focused on performance, and six cores Cortex-A55, focused on energy efficiency. of 2.0GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G76 MC4 and there are options for 64GB + 6GB RAM / 128GB + 6GB RAM / 128GB + 8GB RAM. All versions support memory card up to 256GB.

These settings make the smartphone from Xiaomi approach, in terms of performance, the Galaxy A80, Samsung, and of the own I 9T, which bring the processor Snapdragon 730G e 730, respectively. in tests of benchmarking, by the way, there is a slight advantage of the chipset of the MediaTek sobre or Snapdragon.

World's first 64MP camera

The main novelty of Notes redmi 8 Pro is its 64MP main camera. The sensor is a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1, which has pixel blending technologies that can “produce clear 16-megapixel images in low-light environments and highly detailed 64-megapixel photos in brighter situations”According to Samsung. This production of images is thanks to technology Tetracell, which uses an algorithm to combine four pixels into one.

According to Xiaomi, the smartphone brings the technology of pixel binning, that is, the sensor combines lighting data from multiple pixels into a single point, supposedly enhancing brightness and contrast. 

O ISOCELL Bright GW1 has pixel isolation technology (hence the name Isocell), which optimizes performance specifically for smaller sized pixels. It also supports HDR up to 100dB, producing a greater range. In addition, the main camera has an aperture of f/1.9 and is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps or 1080p (Full HD) at up to 120fps.

Still dealing with the set of cameras at the rear, the Notes redmi 8 Pro It has a secondary 8 MP and aperture of f/2.2 (ultrawide), the third of 2 MP and aperture of f/2.4 (macro) and the fourth of 2 MP and aperture of f/2.4, with focus in depth. On the front, there is a 20MP sensor and f/2.0 aperture, capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

The battery pack is 4.500mAh with 18W fast charging. A novelty brought in the mid-range model is a cooling chamber system to compensate for the heat generated by the chipset of the MediaTek. It is important to point out that it is not the same system that equips smartphones gamers like the Black Shark 2, Xiaomi, or the ROG Phone 2, ASUS, but it is a very welcome solution in a more affordable model.

Xiaomi decided to do a promotion for the launch of the devices, and both are with a mega discount for the first units sold.

The first 150 units of the Redmi Note 8 cost R$1.299,00, while the first 150 units of the Pro version cost R$1.599,00, with 100 units for the official website, while the other 50 will be in the company's physical store in Brazil.
