Zapping, streaming of TV channels, starts at R$ 14,90

During an event held in the city of São Paulo, the Zapping announced its arrival in Brazil with an interesting proposal: the service, which works via the internet, has free-to-air TV channels that can be accessed through its own application. The initiative works directly on smart TVs (with Tizen, WebOS e Android TV), smartphones Android, iOSdevices Roku and even in Chromecasts. Check all the information right now.

Open TV channels, but on the internet

In case you are not a person who prefers to subscribe to subscription TV packages via satellite, an alternative that has just debuted in Brazil is the Zapping (replacing Guigo TV), which sends the same signal as companies like Sky, Claro and Oi TV, but all over the internet. The operation is practically the same, but there is no need to install an antenna, cable system and converter in your home, since only one account is needed to start watching the channels included in the plan you hire.

The company explained at its official event that all channels are broadcast in Full HD (1080p), but it is possible to access content in 4K quality, if this resolution is made available by the channels. This is likely to be seen more at football matches, but special events should also allow content to be viewed in even higher quality.

What are the content options?

In a simplified way, most of the channels that we see in pay TV packages can be watched on Zapping. This goes for traditional broadcasters such as Globo, SBT, Record, Band, TV Cultura, TV Aparecida, Record News and more. Closed TV channels, such as SporTV, Multishow, Globo News, TNT, Space, Universal, Sony Brasil and more, are also part of the plans offered. See the channels of the basic plans:

The company also allows for additional hires to be made so that the plans are more complete. If desired, a customer can contract the Big Brother Brazil when the program is being broadcast (with all cameras), channels of the Telecine, Premiere e Combat. The value of additional plans is calculated together with the price of the main plan contracted by the customer at the time of purchase.

The number of channels offered also varies according to the plans and the same rule of pay TV via satellite applies here: the more you pay, the more options you will have at your disposal. Guilherme Tonelli, Marketing Supervisor Brazil at Zapping, mentioned that the idea is to have the same experience as the traditional plans we know, but now in an even more connected way.

Availability

With a team of developers of 40 people, what stands out most about the TV streaming service is that the application works on multiple devices. Anyone with an account can use their account at:

• Smart TVs Samsung with system Tizen 2016 or higher;
• Smart TVs LG with system WebOS 3.0 (2014) or higher
• Android TV;
• Apple TV (4th generation) via app on the App Store;
• Amazon Fire Stick;
• Devices Roku;
• chromecast (for streaming from Android or iOS smartphones);
• Devices Apple (iOS / iPadOS 12.0 and iPhone 7 or higher) via app on the App Store;
• Devices Android (version 5.0 or higher);

One of the web version which can be accessed from computers is also available to all users, and all you have to do is enter your e-mail and password to start watching the contents according to the contracted plan.

Turbo mode and backward programming up to 7 days

A recurring complaint from those who watch TV channels via streaming service is a certain delay compared to the signal sent via traditional cable. Still in tests, the Turbo mode of the Zapping cuts this down to 20 seconds, so subscribers don't celebrate late goals or special moments of a show.

Another novelty of the service is the possibility of watching content already transmitted live for up to seven days. This goes for all available channels: it is possible to rewatch already broadcast games, movies (in a selected way), television news and even soap operas. The feature manages not only to go back to what was shown on TV, but also to automatically cut programs for better navigation.

The update happens automatically in the app and also in the web version and both exclusive features are included in all plans.

How much do Zapping plans cost?

There are three plans that can be hired by those interested in using the TV streaming service. They start at R$14,90 and go up to R$109,90.

Check out each of them below:

• Lite: R$14,90 (with more than 30 free-to-air TV channels and the possibility of watching content on up to one device at the same time);
• Lite+: 19,90 (with more than 30 free-to-air TV channels and the possibility of watching content on up to 5 devices at the same time);
• Full: BRL 109,90 (with more than 90 free-to-air and cable TV channels and the possibility of watching content on up to 5 devices at the same time).

For this first launch moment, the company has prepared an initial value for the first 5.000 subscriptions: the Lite plan will cost R$10,90, the Lite+ plan will cost R$14,90 and the Full plan will cost R$89,90. It is necessary to register on a waiting list of the site and wait for a call from Zapping. The value of the plans will return to normal after the 5.000 subscriptions are filled.

The company also claims that an approved person can send an invitation link to a friend so that person can “skip the queue” and get a subscription without needing to go through the waiting list.
